    Love this action packed romance

This was a story that had me hooked from the start with a shooting at a wedding after a long night at the hospital with his grandfather and trying to work out who the shooter is Niall comes home to his apartment hoping to get some much needed rest. What he hears is a baby screaming off its head next door. When the baby doesn’t stop he goes over finds the apartment has been broken into with only a screaming baby left behind. Where the devil is Lucy and why would she leave a baby here alone? Surely someone didn’t break in just to leave a baby but it looks like nothing is missing. This is where the story takes off with Lucy coming home finding the sexy man from next door in her apartment with a baby. The author pulls you in with danger at every turn wondering who is after Lucy and baby Tommy and why would someone shut up a wedding. Everywhere you turn there are new threats and some old ones. Through the bullets, stabbings, fights, chases and trying to keep people alive the author gives you an intriguing read that keeps you turning the pages finding out what new twist this author has for your entertainment. Things are not always as they seem sometimes we can’t even believe our eyes. This has a wonderful plot that will make you smile and leave you sad at the same time. The main characters are strong with a little nerdy around the edges. Who said a nerd isn’t sexy doesn’t know what they are talking about. Lucy is a wonderful caring woman who has a bad past but does her best to help others who might be going through the same things as she had. Niall is a very sexy nerdy doctor who deals with the crime scene of the dead. Give him a body and there isn’t anything he can’t tell you about it. Niall’s family are wonderful caring humorous people, they believe in family and stand beside each other. They are a group of lawmen who upholds justice at every turn. The only thing I didn’t understand was why the guy told Lucy to keep the baby away from its mother. This was never explained I guess it was to stop her from looking for her? The author paints a vivid scene from fear, to death that you have no trouble picturing in your mind. You will not see the end coming as she spins a tale of anger, fear, hurt and control. This was a well written story that will stay with you. You will feel for those who are hurt and those that didn’t make it. You will cheer for you main characters as this family soon feels like they are yours. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series and find out why the grandfather was shot and Keir story. He is the fun loving joke playing brother. If you are looking for a mystery full of suspense, a story inside a story and two people who give back more than that take who will love until the end of time this is a story you will love.

    4,5****

I don't know if I have ever 'met' a couple, that are as perfect for each other, than Niall and Lucy are. So completely opposite, but complement each other. Niall, so smart, so brilliant, bright, and organized, logical, but so little human skills. And Lucy, she has the biggest heart, but in her own way, is as awkward as Niall is. But together they just melted my heart. And how they take care Tommy, like he was their own baby. There are scenes with Niall and Tommy, that I didn't know if wanted to laugh out loud or sigh with adoration. Yes, I am in head over heals with the characters in this new series. They are charming, witty, and charismatic. The humor is impeccable, the banter between the brother cracked me up, they are all very much different, with clear characteristics, but yet they all have the love for family, loyalty to their own, and caring for those who are dear to them. The suspense builds up through the tale, the tension and danger accentuated as the clues come to light, and the culprits are narrowed down. The action is bloody, deadly, and brutal, but the brothers are doing what they can, to keep Lucy and Tommy safe, and find out what is going on. Fantastic, alluring setting for the new series, with amiable characters, a murder attempt gone wrong, and edgy action. ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

    Outstanding romantic suspense!

Niall Watson is at his sister Olivia’s wedding on Valentine’s Day, when suddenly he sees a masked figure lurking, and soon shots explode all around. Niall, a Medical Examiner in the Kansas City PD in an Irish family of cops, acts right away, but not before his grandfather is shot. After all the commotion, he finally arrives at his condo at 2 am, when he hears a baby crying, which is most unusual; he figures it could only be his neighbour’s, Lucy McKane. They have briefly spoken in the hallways and the laundry room a few times, but nothing more. After a while, unable to sleep, he goes next door to enquire, and notices the door is unlocked, and the crying baby is there all alone. Niall takes the baby back to his condo, and eventually Lucy gets home. It’s just not her style: Lucy is a social worker, and it’s unthinkable she would do such a thing, and Niall, always the investigator, starts investigating. Try to read APB: BABY in one sitting because it is just too good, and having to stop hurts! I didn’t want to say more about the story itself, because what an exciting story it is; I was drawn in right from the start. Ms. Miller excels at creating atmosphere and building tension, and I couldn’t turn the pages quickly enough. The Watson family is a very interesting bunch, as are Niall and Lucy, and I immediately felt very comfortable with the premise and the characters. The descriptions are vivid and lively, it was just like at the movies, but better! Lucy is a chatterbox and somewhat impulsive, but still very professional and caring, whereas Niall is logical, calm and collected; at first he appears almost unfeeling, and this created a nice contrast as they had to work together to solve the case. Several secondary characters, not immediately in the picture, form the basis of the story line, and a riveting one it is. I liked that Lucy has tried to get Niall to notice her in the past, to no avail, although he finds her very attractive and intelligent; he is almost some kind of Dr. Spock, and it works splendidly! I like Julie Miller, and it seems to me her writing is even more polished than it ever was, which is saying a lot. The pace is perfect throughout, the story is meticulously constructed and absolutely riveting; the romance builds slowly and blends seamlessly in the narrative. I thought it uncanny how it was such a pleasant and easy read, while being almost unbearably exciting. The more the story progresses, the more thrilling it becomes; I almost felt like shouting and jumping up and down. APB: BABY is outstanding! If you are thinking of reading one romantic suspense this year, make it APB: BABY! A Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team Selection

Great start on a new series

Title: APB Baby- The Precinct Book 28 - Bachelors In Blue Book 1 Author: Julie Miller Publisher: Harlequin Intrigue Published: 6-1-2016 Pages: 224 Genre: Mystery, Thrillers & Suspense Sub-Genre: Crime; Murder; Series; Action ISBN: 9780373699094 ASIN: B016UEJGNQ Reviewed For NetGalley and Harlequin Reviewer: DelAnne Rating: 5.75 Stars After a near-fatal shootout at his sister's wedding, third-generation lawman Niall Watson comes home to a baby in distress. The abandoned newborn in his neighbor's apartment sends the Kansas City PD criminologist into rescue mode once again. Social worker Lucy McKane will do whatever it takes to protect the infant boy entrusted to her care. The tall, sexy ME next door may be clueless about her feelings for him, but Niall's the only one who can keep them safe. As a vengeful killer targets them, desire draws Lucy and Niall dangerously closer. Together, can they find justice and safeguard their newly created family? Alright I admit the cute baby on the cover had me even before I read the blurb. The protective hot guy didn't hurt either. A beautiful love story of two strong characters that fiercely protect those weaker than them. Moving at a quick pace, the story never bogs down or becomes boring or cloudy. The scenes are vivid detailed so that the reader can build clear pictures in their mind. Helping to pull them even more into the story. Pick up a copy today. As are all the books in this series. My rating of "APB Baby- The Precinct 28 - Bachelors In Blue Book 1" is 4.75 out of 5 stars.
