    A diverse sampling of authors.

I like short story anthologies for sampling new authors. There are a lot of free and discounted first in series books out there. Short stories provide a glimpse at the authors style or tone without commiting to a full length book and filing a library with books that are likely to never be read. This one was off the beaten path for me. I found a handful of authors that I actively sought books from and a few made it to my "No" list. I even discovered I owned a sleeper bundle, as with Reaper's Run, where I need to go back and read Plague Wars, Book #0, oops. I'm calling Apocalyptic Fears #6 a success.

    Zombies and plagues

A good book for short reading stints. Most of the short stories, except the last one, can be read in an hour or less. I enjoyed most of the stories, skipping over only one, just because of personal preference. Some stories are written better than others but overall if you like apocalyptic type stories in abundance this book is for you.
