    Classic

I love this dark view of a totalitarian country with the big brother definition. You should read Haruki Murakami "IQ84", as well.

    Fantastic.

The truth in the pages of this book transcend time, and speak to a part of the human condition. This part of us finds a home in all times, whether it be the Tokubetsu Kōtō Keisatsu of Japan, Kim Jong Il of North Korea, or the Social Justice Warriors of America. Groups seek to control reality through language, defining the past, and being the sole arbiter of reality. Reading this book will show you what it is we should fear from groups of humans.

    A beautiful Tragedy

This story is dark. Its full of crushed dreams and ominous foreshadowing, and its absolutely beautiful. The dark dipiction underscores the darkside of the human society. It is exactly how I imagine China or North Korea. (Especially the latter) i shudder to think that this is possible, but the horror I now feel at the end of this story is precisely because it is possible. Everyone on this planet should read this book less the society fall into the role of proles and governance moves in an Orwelleon direction.
