    Gripping page turner

This book is a gripping page turner, I didn't want to do anything but read it to the end. The story is told in third person by four main characters and gave us insight as to what was happening from their viewpoint. When Lily was kidnapped at 16, her family's life was turned upside down, as was Lily's. She was a normal 16 year old; had friends, was a budding track star and was in love with her first boyfriend. As years went by, Lily adapted to her new life but had dreams of escaping, never letting go of the thought that maybe some day that will be possible. For the ones she left behind, they never recovered; they were alive but not really living. This is a work of fiction however we all know there are cases where this has actually happened. Who knows where monsters hide? Is that person next door as sweet as they seem to be? What about your best friend? What demons don't we see or choose not to? For the most part, I found the story to be mostly believable. Lily became submissive while in captivity but had an admirable inner strength that allowed her to escape and move on but she had her own demons inside that she had to deal with. Life didn't just go on but I wasn't wholly convinced her total switch from the submissive Lily to the stronger kickass Lily would have happened that quickly. I did question Sky's reactions as well. From a child raised that way who had no contact with anyone other than her parents, would she really adapt so well to strangers even if she knew her mother trusted them, or happily going to a mall where there would be mobs of strangers? Other than a few of my misgivings of the reality of their adapting, which for me made it a 4 1/2 but I gave it a 5 since it's worth more than 5, I did love this book. Love the writing flow and loved the storyline. I think this would make a fantastic movie. (And goodreads, is there any chance we can do half stars in the near future? Sometimes my liking or disliking of a book needs that extra half up or down)

    Suspenseful and Dramatic!

Twin sisters Lily and Abby had the usual squabbles and loving care of one another, as most sisters; their lives were just beginning as they attended high school in preparation for college. They had a loving and caring family and Lily had a loving boyfriend, Wes. All that was nearly destroyed by a diabolical, sociopath! Years later, circumstances have changed drastically. Lily's return brings joy, anger, confusion, heartache and later clarity to the family. This story takes place after Lily returns with references to earlier times. Abuse and twisted "training," are mentioned without graphic detail. Suspenseful and dramatic. Book free for honest review.

If you like "deus ex machina" then you'll love this tripe ¡ Predictable pulp fiction that just won't put itself out of its misery.
