    4 Howling Stars!

Renny is trying desperately to reach the town of Alpha, Washington before her pursuers reach her. Alphaville is a shifter community that takes in all kinds of lone shifters and they look out for each other. With a crazy coyote stalker and his enforcers chasing her for months and running her out of every town she settles at, she needs a safe place to go. When Renny's car runs out of gas she has no choice but to shift and run towards Alphaville, just as she reaches the outskirts, the enforcers catch up with her. Mick hears the commotion outside his house and investigates only to see an injured wolf and a coyote about to attack. Mick soon learns that Renny is his mate and calls up the help of the sheriff and Mayor to try and run down these enforcers and keep her safe. I made the mistake of starting this story at my lunch break and it started out with the chase. I was pretty hooked and didn't want to stop to go back to work. The story kept at a pretty fast pace since the whole book is about Renny's stalker and enforcers trying to kidnap her. The whole town of Alphaville step up to try and keep her safe. I can't say that I would fawn all over the main characters but I did enjoy the interactions of all the characters. The sheriff and Mayor's interaction with Mick was pretty comical. I also liked Molly's character. She's the sheriff's sister, the towns EMT and pretty fiesty for a lioness shifter. This book was entertaining and I would be interested in seeing some of the side characters get their own story. ARC provided by Netgalley.

    Howling for You

Well, I am sincerely pleased to announce that once again, Christine Warren has brought her fabulous world to life with well written words that paint vivid images that makes readers feel as if they are part of the story. The characters are strong, captivating and grab the reader’s attention right from the start and in this case, Renny and Mick draw readers into an emotionally turbulent romance that is full of heat and spice and you can practically feel the chemistry between them as it flies from the pages. The fast paced plot is full of thrills and suspense that keep readers on the edge of their seat while a bad alpha keeps the danger coming as he has fixated on Renny and then the author adds a few surprising twists to keep readers guessing. This story has it all with lots of romance, suspense, heat, great dialogue that makes it easy for the readers to relate to the characters and feel as if they really come to life and let me tell you the alpha males are super sexy and they are definitely playing for keeps, of course I don’t mind because they can certainly keep me. Another great series from Christine Warren, which isn’t surprising since I love her other books. This book starts off with plenty of excitement and I was glued to the pages from very first one. I loved Alphaville and there is some really interesting characters that live there, so I can’t wait to visit again.

    Alpha wolf and sizzling chemistry

Renny is a wolf shifter on the run for her life. She’s trying to reach Alphaville when she runs out of gas and is chased through the forest by the coyotes charged with bringing her back to the one who is obsessed with her. With a light in the distance as her only hope, she pushes herself onward despite her injuries. Mick lost his mate eight years ago and he’s been waiting for death to take him since that moment. It’s the way of the wolf, to follow their mate into the afterworld. Until that time arrives he remains reclusive and shut off from forming any close attachments. When he rescues Renny his wolf immediately takes notice of her and demands they claim her as their own. Renny and Mick together were wonderful. I loved that he was all alpha wolf with her despite his initial reticence about her being his mate. Renny accepted Mick but knew that he might never be able to reciprocate her feelings. Nevertheless, she persevered, knowing that he was it for her. She was strong and feisty, willing to yield to him when necessary but also capable of standing strong by his side when needed. Their chemistry was sizzling and their relationship was what romance novels are all about. I guess haven’t read enough shifter books to really appreciate the protective alpha wolf aspect of the genre. I am totally sold on it now. This was a fast paced read with lots of action, great secondary characters and plenty of steam. The hero’s previous mate was worrisome but the author put my mind at ease regarding Mick’s feelings for his first mate as compared to Renny. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I’m excited to see what capers the next couple will get into. This is an honest review of an advanced copy provided by NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press. Dual POV Safety – no ow drama; om drama is not from someone h was involved with but from an obsessed stalker Possible triggers – the villain wants to kidnap and rape her

Baby, I'm Howling for You by Christine Warren

Baby, I’m Howling For You by Christine Warren Clever and smart writing takes the paranormal romance to an utterly delightful level of humor, love, suspense and satisfaction. 1st of a spin-off series, this paranormal romance takes place in Alpha. A town established for loner, hurt or other paranormals that need a place of safety. I haven’t read The Others series. I easily understood the town, premise and didn’t feel like I’d started in the middle of something. Perfect way to start a spin-off. Renny Landry has a stalker. While she does not want anyone else hurt, she needs a place to stay where the residents can protect themselves. I really liked this woman. She’s on the run, but doesn’t sweat the details. She stands up and deals with whatever comes her way. And when her new mate tries to put her In a protective bubble, she smashes the barriers and joins in the fight. Ok, she is brave, but probably more to her detriment than is smart. But I loved that. She will be there for whatever is needed. I look forward to reading more of this series and have stocked The Other series in my TBR. Lots of funny one liners. “Their Mate was kissing them.” Excerpt: “He nuzzled her ear, dragging in one more lungful of delicious female, before rolling off her and dragging her against his side. Now that he’d claimed his mate, he didn’t want to smother her on their first night together. That just seem rude. Plus, it would pretty much rule out his hopes for round two a little bit later.” Excerpt from Baby, I’m Howling For You by Christine Warren. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy.

    Howling good read!

I have to say this was a howling good time! Sorry I couldn’t help myself! Baby, I’m Howling for You is the first full length novel in the Alphaville series. There is a prequel to this, but it isn’t necessary to read it, but I really thought it helped set the tone for the series. This book really could be read as a standalone with no problem. I really enjoyed this paranormal romance and the author’s writing style laced with humor and snark. Its action packed, has good world building, awesome secondary characters and leading characters with a lot of substance to them. Renny is a on the run, being stalked and terrorized by another alpha from a coyote pack from her home in California. She had to give up the job she loved as a lead librarian. Renny had spurned the coyotes’ advances many times, but he wouldn’t take no for an answer. He is resorting to have his pack chase her across state lines. Renny is trying to get to Alpha, Washington to try and make a new life for herself. She had done her research and found that Alpha is a town run by shifters for shifters. It is where shifters go that are damaged, alone or just different. It’s a place where they can go where they know they will be accepted with no questions asked. There is a mixture of all different shifters who come together to form a close-knit community. Just the place that Renny needed! Little did she know, that when she was being chased this time, she was being driven to the arms of her mate! Mick has a tragic back story and he lives alone. He is a wolf shifter and they mate for life. His wife died eight years ago and by all accounts, he should have died too, since wolves usually can’t live long without their mates. He is just biding his time to die or, so he thinks. Mick is a rather famous graphic novelist; he not only writes them, he illustrates them. He has made a decent life for himself in Alpha, coming from California shortly after his wife died. He keeps to himself and is readily accepted for the cranky man that he is. Then one night he hears coyote yips that sound like they are in distress and it is too close for comfort. Trespassers on his land. He goes outside of his cabin and out of the woods shoots a coyote and she is badly injured. She is being chased by another coyote and he looked like he was going to finish the job he started. Mick shot him. He didn’t kill him, just injured him and he took off. Mick brought her to his cabin and called the deputy to come and take his statement. The deputy also brought along his paramedic sister and the town mayor. Now the fun begins! I absolutely was engrossed in this book! It was a fun read and I loved the characters. There is a lot going on to keep me more than hooked! I got a little more of Alpha’s (referred to as Alphaville) story and learned more about the secondary characters that I met in Something to Howl About. The story is fast paced, and it is fun to watch Mick struggle with his feelings for Renny. They have great chemistry and the banter between them is so entertaining. The secondary characters are also hilarious! I don’t want to give anything away, as this book needs to be read and enjoyed. If you love paranormal romance and shifters, then give this book a try. It really is a great read and I can’t wait for more of Alphaville and the wonderful characters that live there!
