    Bargaining with a rake

I totally love this book. It was a good read with a perfectly woven tale and enjoyable characters. I love romance books with suspence.

    Appealing story

This author knows how to tell a story, and has well defined and complex characters. I occasionally found it a bit slow going, and there were a few distracting red herrings, but the book is largely entertaining and readable.

    A new to me author

Every element needed to make a fabulous story is here. Romance, memorable characters, a great plot with good flow. Would read more.

A bit clumsy, but still fun

If you're a Regency purist, this is not the book for you. But if you're simply looking for a fun, fast, read, you could do a lot worse. The story moves quickly, there's some snappy dialogue (not even remotely true to the period, but smile-inducing nonetheless), and the characters, though not particularly deep, are entertaining and easy to read about. While it's only too obvious that the author knows nothing about the Recency period the story is set in -- the fact that mourning was strictly observed, for example, and absolutely no one would have attended a ball or house party in the weeks following the death of an immediate family member, if you can overlook that, the book is ideal beach or airplane fodder for any readers not too hung up on Regency conventions.

    Enjoyable

I have enjoyed this book. Although I found it bit slow and lenghty but enjoyed the plot and the suspense .
