4.5 stars- A great trifecta of stories

If you enjoyed the full length novel, Where Death Meets the Devil, you can't go wrong with this novella featuring more Ethan and Jack. Bargaining with the Devil contains three shorts spanned over the course of three months wherein the assassin and spy try to find common enough ground to keep seeing one another. The pacing throughout the stories was fast and catching, pulling me in with some suspense, excitement, and even sweet moments. The author perfectly balanced more insight into the characters with retaining that air of mystery that's been a hallmark of this couple. I desperately wanted to see the relationship between Ethan and Jack cement a bit more. While I didn't get that, there were plenty of inklings of deepening feelings and whispers of unspoken emotion which kept me glued to my e-reader. One thing's for sure, the more time I get with this deadly couple, the more I want. *eARC received from author. The author had no influence over this review*
