    Beautiful Bad

Beautiful Bad by Annie Ward has many twists, turns, and surprises. Ms Ward tells the story by going back in forth in time and some occasional change of the point of view. Because of so much jumping around it took me awhile to become invested in the story, that's the only reason for 4, rather than 5 stars. I was given an early copy to review.

    a good read

This book is one that you have to pay attention to whilst reading it due to the time jumps, it’s not my favourite way of telling a story but when done well it really works and can be enjoyable to read. For the most part I think this author is able to write these jumps in time quite well, but it still makes it difficult to follow if you are not paying attention. I like how the characters seem like everyday people, they have flaws, they make good choices and bad choices. The plot is very interesting and takes place all over the world over a time span of about 20 years, in that time a lot can happen to a person and a family. If you are looking for a good book to read with lots of twists and turns, then you have found it in this one.

    Dark and Suspenseful

This book is a little different than I expected from the description. It is very dark and suspenseful. It’s set all over the world with many of the places wartorn and impoverished. All of the characters are well developed and complex. The three main characters I would describe as broken people. It’s unclear at the beginning what really makes these people tick. They all come from different backgrounds but meet through their very different jobs. The ending will absolutely blow you away!

    Not that good

This is a hard book to review. I had a love/hate relationship with this book from the beginning. I loved it when I first started reading it but then it went downhill from there for me. There were too many POVs and too much switching back and forth in time and place. I would love it in parts and then parts of it did not hold my interest at all. The characters were all pretty much unlikable and most of them were weird except for Detective Diane Varga. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
