I have been a fan of KC Lynn's since I first read her Men of Honor series. I adore this author's writing style, she flawlessly executes dual points of view really bringing her readers into the hero and heroine's thoughts. She writes strong, sexy, over protective alpha males amazingly well. Her heroines are never weak, meek females; they are strong, they are sassy, and they are effortlessly, unwittingly and sometimes unknowingly sexy. Beautifully Insightful is a second chance love story for Ryder Jameson and Emily Michaels. Emily, blinded by illness in her childhood, is the governor's sheltered, protected, homeschooled daughter. Her parents are not nice people who shower her with love. One of the reasons she is so sheltered is because they are ashamed of and embarrassed by her disability. With the love and guidance of her trusted housekeeper and nanny, Rosa, she grows into a strong, courageous teenager and she fights her parents to allow her to finish her high schooling by attending school for her senior year. It is there that she meets the town's baddest boy, Ryder Jameson. Ryder Jameson has not had an easy life. The son of the town's trashiest white trash family, he has been painted with the same brush his parents have been painted with his whole life. He doesn't let many people in and, truthfully, no one has really taken the time to get to know him either. The rumors that swirl around him - everything from his sexual promiscuity to his being an assassin - are ridiculous and false. The truth is that he is very smart and has worked very hard to get a scholarship. For him, this is his ticket out of this place and away from this life. He is gorgeous, he is confident, he is mysterious and the girls all want him, but he's the guy for a good time, definitely not the keeper. Ryder meets Emily for the first time when he rescues her from an unwanted, very physical advance from a guy her parents deem to be "the one" for her, Kyle. Emily hates him and rebuffs his advances at every chance. After Ryder steps in on her behalf, they form a friendship which proceeds into a young love relationship. She is not at all what he was expecting; she is not the stuck up princess he assumed she'd be, and it is ultimately her sweet innocence and incredible insightfulness that draw him to her. They are so sweet together, and their young love is true and deep. Despite her physical blindness, she's sees the real Ryder, and he sees past her disability to the girl she is and loves her. Of course, Ryder is completely unacceptable to her parents, and as it turns out, their secret relationship isn't so secret after all. Emily's father gives Ryder no choice but to leave town, and Ryder does. Emily is heartbroken by Ryder's sudden departure and she spends the next six years wondering what happened. She is living her life, having regained her sight, when Ryder reappears in it. He is now an FBI agent and her father is a suspect. Ryder needs Emily's help. But that isn't all that Ryder wants from Emily, the only girl he's ever cared about and the one he cannot stop thinking about. Ryder wants it all. Can Ryder convince Emily that his love is true? Can Emily forgive him for the way her left her six years ago? Will they survive the danger that surrounds them? KC Lynn is a very talented author, and I have read and enjoyed all of her books immensely. She has a descriptive, detailed quality to her writing that captures the reader's attention and holds it. I'm excited to read more from this author, and she's earned a spot on my auto-buy list with this fantastic story. Great job, KC!!

K.C. Lynn always blows me away with her words! Beautifully Insightful is by far my favourite of her novels and this book will likely be in my top 5 of the year. And it's only January! I couldn't put this book down. You will absolutely love Ryder and his over the top protectiveness. Emily was so endearing - she'll make you cry!!! This book is a tearjerker - get some tissues!
