    Thanks for your feedback!

I found the history of belle quite fascinating but dry reading in some parts especially the political and legal dealing of lord Mansfield court .

    Not what I expected

I would say this is first and foremost a story about the events leading to the abolition of slavery in England, and secondly a historical account of Elizabeth Dido Belle. This tale is skillfully told and well researched, but the references to Dido Belle largely come across as just an attempt to bind her into a book that bears her name. Sometimes this is done seamlessly, but just as frequently I was left wondering why a single sentence made reference to her, in the midst of talk about anti-saccharites, for example. Nevertheless, the story flows well despite containing fairly dry, but relevant material.
