  • Great read from start to finish

I enjoyed this fast paced rollar coaster of a story. Dropping us into the middle of Nim's bargain didn't make me feel like I missed a part of the story like some others books have left me feeling. I liked Nim as the main character. She was stronger than she realized and quick to trust the right people. I love the way Nim instilled trust in those around her. Caring for her friends more than even her own life.

  • Great story

Blood contracts. Magic. (Literal) Criminal Underworld. When Nimona's father defaulted on his contract with the Trust, he went to jail and Nimona inherited his debt - which she will probably never be able to pay off. Unless she can resolve the issue with the help of the king's Seneschal ... and he's kinda cute.

  • Enjoyable Read

This was an enjoyable read but sometimes a bit hard to follow as there were some inconsistencies in the telling of the story. Maybe the author thought we would be able to deduce what she was trying to imply but some of the storyline was a little too obtuse or vague for my liking. Sometimes I really need things spelled out for me! That being said, I have downloaded the next book in the series because I really like the characters and wish to find out more about what happened to Nim, Wesley, Warrick and the rest of the crew. I’m hoping book 2 has some of the kinks worked out.
