    The gift of you

Julian Quintero aka "Quinn" lives next door to Spencer Morgan. For at least a year now, Spencer has hoped to have the courage to talk to him. He knows he is invisible to Quinn, so he is afraid to step across the line into the light of his attention. Quinn, as a member of the SWAT team, is a rather intimidating fellow. The only reason Spencer even knows he is gay, is that he saw him kiss another man goodbye at the door once. Following an incident at work, Quinn is at home, laid up, and recuperating. Spencer wants to help but is not sure how. Spencer and Quinn's neighbor, also Spencer's best friend encourages him to go offer food or help to the recuperating officer. While trying to do just that, Quinn's best friend stops by and gets his phone number to give to Quinn. This is a short and sweetly done story about what can happen when opposites attract. I am not sure what I was expecting, but this an author who never disappoints. The banter and sexy times were there, and the charm was swoon worthy!

    Cute but Short

Very adorable, but felt unfinished. The author brought up points of discontent with each man's life but never addressed them. Overall, a cute, quick read.

    It was ok

A nice gentle read. I liked the characters and the sweet fluffy-ness of the story but the stripper scene completely lost me, especially when they immediately jumped into bed in a insta-forgive moment. Ending was too rushed as if the author wanted to move on quickly. Ultimately a sweet story.

Must read novella full of yummy rom-com feels

How did I miss this? It is going on 3-1/2 years since Beware of Geeks Bearing Gifts was released and somehow it has missed my radar till now - I have no words other than Ooops! I'm sure I would have eventually discovered Beware but it came to my attention recently after reading Charlie Cochet's Valentine's Day free read, In the Cards(#4.5 in her Four Kings Security series) where I learned Ace & Lucky's cousin Quinn & his partner Spencer had their own story. I immediately went and "1-clicked" but was unable to read right away but it went to the top of my TBR list. Beware of Geeks Bearing Gifts is rom-com at its best. How can you not cheer for Spencer and Quinn? On the surface you couldn't find two more polar opposites but once Spencer finally takes the leap to introduce himself(BTW his flustered moment of slapstick clumsiness is one of the cutest nice-to-meet-you scenes ever) you realize they really are quite suited. They balance each other out and it was easy to understand how they got from Beware to In the Cards. Now, just because I said its rom-com at its best don't think its cliche. Oh no, Beware of Geeks Bearing Gifts is a genius blend of humor, romance, and heat with just the right amount of drama to kick them in the butt too realize how deep their hearts have gotten. Simply put Quinn & Spencer's tale is a delightful gem from beginning to end.
