  • I relished every nuance

I absolutely look forward to every book in this series and for this reader the recent ones have been such fun to read. I know this is paranormal romance so we expect to find the focus of the story to be about Locke and Kyi but I relished the accompanying storylines featuring characters who I feel really do deserve the time that they are given here. Poor Locke is convinced that he has finally caught up with his Mates killer only to discover that Kyi not only hasn't murdered his Mate but that it was actually her mother who had bewitched him into believing that he had found a Mate ! I guess this couple will need to work a few things out if they are to ever catch up with Xuria and stop her taking any more innocent lives . Luckily others are getting entangled with Kyi's family too but that might not always be a guaranteed happy ending because one of them is a rather accident prone Gargoyle named Levet ! For me this was a fun read that started with my favourite grumpy Vampire Styxx and then added more than a dash of loveable Levet. Although finally yes finally the author decided to give Troy the Imp Prince an almost leading roll which pleased me no end. As much as I do enjoy a steamy romance I am increasingly interested in this world and its often dysfunctional characters. I truly had a ball reading this and yes Locke finally stopped being a lonely Vampire and did actually find his true Mate . Obviously nothing was exactly easy but then again if its worth having then the fight is most assuredly worth it ! This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

  • Entertaining book

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was action packed, steamy, snarky and fun. It was fast-paced, held my interest and I didn't want to put it down. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is #18 in the Guardians of Eternity series. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books in this series as well as others by this author.

  • Locke finds out his "mate" enchanted him!

Locke has been" seeking solace" (read hatching a dastardly plan for revenge) for over a century. Someone killed his mate before they properly bonded and he's after blood. The King wants his Raven back on duty too. When Kyi almost falls into his lap he's sure that his vengeance is almost complete. Pity Kyi throws a spanner in the works and informs him that his mate was nothing of the sort and was in fact a Sorceress! Oh, and also her mother! Levet and Inga are also in amongst the drama along with Troy. But their adventures take them a slightly different route but as usual, end up just where they need to be in time for all the fireworks! I sweat Levet steals the show. Every. Single. Time. LOL A short, funny read with plenty of smexy moments! Perfect fit for a lunch time read.

  • Great series!

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy. I recently started this series and am a bit more than half way through when I saw this book on the ARC list. So, even though I am reading this out of order, it was easy to read it as a stand alone. Although, it is always fun when Levet is included in the story as it adds a bit of humor. Kyi and Locke seem like an unlikely pair when the book starts as he is determined to kill the assassin who killed his mate - until he learns that he was tricked and did not have a mate and she is not dead after all. This starts them down a road searching for Xuria and as the story progresses, we add a few more characters from previous books, Inga, Levet, Troy, and Cleo. There was so much drama and action that I could not put the book down as I wanted to see who they figured out how to stop Xuria. There was a small side story with Inga and her worries about being the queen of the mer-people when she is half ogre and some good encouragement along the way. A few twists and turns are thrown in and a budding romance between Kyi and Locke. Also, Locke resolves some of his own issues that he had been ignoring for awhile. So, there were several good conclusions to personal struggles in this story! Now, I have to get back to the previous books and keep moving toward the end., and hope that there are more characters for future books! Always love the good guys saving the day!

  • Bewitch the Darkness

Loche is a vampire whose nay purpose in life is for everyone to leave him alone. When his mate dies he goes into seclusion. His only goal, to kill the sorceress who killed his mate. When after years he senses her he sets out to get even. Kyi is searching for her mother. Her goal to kill her. When she forgets to put up her shield while chasing a lead, Loche is there. Great writer books are always fun to read. Levet, Inga, and the others are back., along with Levets misquotes. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
