One night can lead to a lifetime

Two people who feel like they have lost everything make a connection. It was supposed to be for one night. Circumstances change and Reese goes looking for Logan. When they meet again, the attraction is still there burning hot. Pasts come back to haunt both and try to pull them apart. For a woman who constantly moves, Reese feels almost like she can stay in this one place and Logan is determined to move forward with her. Blackmail, threats of violence, a large sense of humor, and the love of family, friends, and ever after made this a fun book to read. I highly recommend this book, and I will be reading about the rest of the family. This is a series but the story does stand alone. I received a copy of this book through Netgalley.

    Unforgettable

I love this author and how she makes me react, be it laughing, crying cursing the characters or swooning at the romantic gestures, she always pulls a strong reaction from me. The plot of this novel was original, while still maintaining the essence of a small town romance. I love how vivid everything was. Fossen's beautiful descriptions combine with her intensely fulfilling storytelling for an unforgettable tale that you can't miss out on. And the characters that step forward to take center stage here were unforgettable as well. The inner turmoil and self doubt that they both feel is so hidden by their public persona that the mix was definitely intriguing. And the chemistry between them? It was off the charts and had me drooling. These were fantastic characters that I didn't just enjoy reading about, but also loved getting to know. I really enjoyed this entire series but this novel was above and beyond my favorite. It can easily be read on its own or as part of this fantastic series. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Excellent read! It never gets old!

The day Logan McCord was going to surprise his long-time girlfriend with a marriage proposal was the day he walked in on her having sex with some clown. He drove the 30 miles from Spring Hill Texas to San Antonio to get drunk and try to forget. In the bar, there is also a pretty woman – so not his type! – also trying to drown her sorrows. They’re both pretty drunk, and she’s the one who suggests one night of sex with no strings attached, no names; nothing but sex. When Logan wakes up the morning after, she’s gone, but she has left him an antique pocket watch, and Logan becomes very suspicious: is she a con artist? What does she want from him? He will find her! Reese Stevens, the mystery woman, has few things left on her bucket list; the hot cowboy was one of them, that’s why she left him her most precious possession: her beloved grandfather’s gold watch. When her doctor tells her that there had been a mix-up in the files and she is not going to die, Reese has to find her hot cowboy and retrieve the heirloom, whatever it takes! BLAME IT ON THE COWBOY is definitely not your run of the mill one-night stand novel! Even if it’s not apparent in my review, the premise is completely outrageous, that I wonder if a lesser author would have made it work, but trust Delores Fossen to pull it off superbly! In spite of the totally over-the-top beginning, it all feels real mostly because the characters are so relatable and complex. Hilarious in places, the story is multilayered and the plot quite complex: there are more twists and turns than a roller coaster ride! And amidst all the shenanigans and the perilous situations, there is an absolutely lovely romance. Ms. Fossen is a true artist, because BLAME IT ON THE COWBOY could have been an epic fail, but it is so meticulously plotted, the characters have such depth, that the whole thing feels real, and the drunken sexual attraction slowly develops into true love in credible fashion, and especially according to a realistic timeline. BLAME IT ON THE COWBOY is wildly funny, suspenseful, but it is the beautiful romance that will melt your heart: entertainment at its finest! This book also features a short story by Ms. Fossen, COWBOY UNDERNEATH IT ALL. It is also set in the McCord Brothers’ world, in Spring Hill Texas, and stars a friend of Lucky McCord’s. Captain Kane Bullock, after 10 years in the Air Force, comes home and finds out that his long-time girlfriend Violet is set to wed another, a High School buddy of his. However Violet’s little sister Eliza is all grown up, and to protect Kane from the shock Violet’s engagement, Eliza has told a little fib, which quickly snowballs… COWBOY UNDERNEATH IT ALL is a totally charming story where insta everything works perfectly. Delores Fossen knows exactly just how far to go, in the precise timeframe given the context and the length of the book, to make the whole thing credible. Obviously, things happen quickly, but no suspension of disbelief is required, as the justifications for the sequence of events make perfect sense. I really enjoyed COWBOY UNDERNEATH IT ALL; it’s a quick read that will leave you smiling! A Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team Selection

Well-written mix of romance, passion, sweetness

BLAME IT ON THE COWBOY is a very enjoyable, entertaining and well-written mix of romance, passion, sweetness and drama, with lots of hilarious moments. Honestly, I would love to know what was going through Ms. Fossen's mind during her research for this book because she apparently takes her research very seriously. Some of the descriptions were so funny, I found myself erupting into laughter several times, which makes this a winner, in my opinion. After eight years with his girlfriend, Logan McCord's next step was to make it official by proposing but that didn't go so well. Drowning his sorrows in some top-shelf liquor led to meeting a stranger who rocked his world for one night, only for her to turn up in his town a few months later. For a man of his wealth and connections, she could be a problem but he can't resist her. Reese Stephens is in Spring Hill, Texas to retrieve an important item she had left with Logan when she thought she was dying, a misconception that led to a bucket list and some of the best sex of her life. However, for someone who never stays in one place long enough to plant roots, she's not in a hurry to leave Spring Hill and Logan is a big part of that. But her past soon catches up with her and she has to decide if she'll stay and fight for Logan against the woman who betrayed him, or if she'll let her past drive her away from what could be her future? Reese may not be the woman for Logan, but she is what he needs and he's not going to let her past or the return of his scheming ex run her out of town. This town is off the chain and these people left me in tears from laughing so hard. With clowns and sketchy characters up to no good, and the entire town up in their business, it felt like you needed a flow chart to keep up, but in a very funny way. And did I mention Reese's best friend? She needs her own book, stat! I have been looking forward to this book since I finished the previous one and I can say that it exceeded my expectations. The good thing is it can totally be read as a stand-alone, so I highly recommend grabbing a copy right away!
