    Romantic Suspense

Blind Date by Bella Jewel Blind dates are suggested to Hartley “Hart” Watson by her friend Taylor – to get her out of grieving for the husband of ten years that she lost four years before. Little does she know that someone evil has his eye on her AND that person will be one of the men she eventually dates. I knew who the bad guy was from the beginning and found the book rather predictable. I found the romance between Hart and Ace one that didn’t quite seem to work but it did for them – started with rudeness and grew from there. I guess I felt this story was predictable and short but for some it would be an entertaining read – I was hoping for more. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review. 2-3 Stars

Another fantastic book from Bella Jewel!

Bella Jewel has definitely proven she knows how to write dark, twisted romantic suspense stories!!! The first couple in this genre were good but this one, FANTASTIC!!!! Hartley Watson lost everything when she lost her husband. Four years later she is finally getting her life in order. She even let's her best friend convince her to go on a couple of blind dates. About the same time she starts dating her third blind date (Jacob)she also starts having more interaction with her neighbor, the broody cop. Soon, she starts finding little things that make her think that maybe she wasn't really ready to start dating after all. Notes from her husband, a coffee cup her got her that she packed away. At first she thinks, maybe she got these things out, but when she figures out she's not the one digging these things out she realizes someone is out to terrorize her. Who better to help her than her neighbor, the cop. Ace has endured his own loss and really isn't ready to get past that. But when he realizes Hartley has become the target of a serial killer he finally starts to come out of the fog his loss has left him in. But will he realize soon enough who the killer is? Can anyone keep Hartley out of the hands of a killer? I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

    Engaging, intriguing, romance storying!

I loved reading the intriguing and amazing romance novel by the fabulously talented Bella Jewel. I voluntarily reviewed a copy through the publisher and Netgalley. Hartley, unwillingly, agrees to go out on three blind dates, but, now she is experiencing odd occurrences happening that only her husband who passed away four years ago would have known about. She runs to the private detective, Ace, who at first seems withdrawn but soon warms up to her. The attraction between Hartley and Ace ignites and explodes with passion and feelings for each other as the serial killer draws closer and closer to Hartley. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written engaging love story full of mystery, suspense, and romance.

    Excellent read with broody hero

I’m worried about Bella Jewel. This author has a deep, dark, twisted mind. Hartley has just started dating again after the death of her husband. It hasn’t been going very well. When she finally makes a connection with a sweet even tempered man, she also begins a hate relationship with her next door neighbor. He’s rude, moody, and the most un-neighborly individual she has ever met. The only good thing is when it looks like Hartley might be losing her mind, he’s there to help her out. I loved Ace’s broody attitude and his big bulky body. The way he stepped in when things started going south for Hartley. Hartley made a couple of stupid and ridiculous decisions that didn’t lead to anything happening but that I thought was out of character for someone being hunted by a serial killer. I did love her strength though when the going got tough. Both of these individuals have significant loss in their lives but they both believe there can be more than one love in a person’s life. I never felt that either of their characters took second place to their previous love. While I don’t think this book had as much as a shock and surprise factor as the previous books, Ms. Jewel can write a scary psycho scene that will chill your blood. Add in a little romance and you’ve got yourself a winner. ARC provided by NetGalley Mostly heroine’s POV with just a scene or two in Ace’s No other woman drama – other man doesn’t really cause any drama Potential triggers – This is about a serial killer who targets Hartley. While nothing of a sexual nature takes place, there is violence. Epilogue – no real epilogue and nothing to let us know what happens with this couple in the future.
