    Blood Stained Tea

The story line was very interesting! I loved the cultural differences between the characters. The differences were suttle but it made them so opposite in many ways. I have a very short memory so, I can't give you much detail. Really enjoyed the book.

An author to follow if you like a good read.

I loved the easy flowing style of writing. The blend of violence and beauty are entwined in every chapter. The characters are real as you find yourself drawn into the crime world alongside the culture and beauty of Japan. It made me want more from this author, that explains the five star rating.

    Not the Yellow Brick Road

This was so different from my usual reading material but once I got into it I was drawn into the story and just had to keep reading. It tells the story of Nao the son of the leader of the Japanese mob. He is an outcast and to try and escape his past heruns a little tea shop in his home town of Kyoto. Kyoto is being infiltrated by the Korean mafia who are attempting to oust Nao's family from power. Nao rescues a badly injured man from the river not knowing that this man is the second in command of the Koreans, He is drawn to this man Saehyun and there follows a story of lies and deceit and an ending that is both sad and shocking. This was such an enthralling story. Once engrossed you just have to read right to the end.
