    Lovely

I really liked this series ... Blue Balls and Clam Jammer. They were funny and sweet all wrapped up in a good read.

Laugh out loud and swoon hard!

This was my first R.C. Boldt read, and it sure won't be my last! Blue Balls caught my attention just by the title alone, and kept me captivated throughout the entire story! Hilarious, witty, and oozing with charm, the storyline was exceptional and definitely in a league of it's own. Sarah and Jack were comedic gold! Their interactions together were beyond anything I expected. Not only is their connection completely entertaining, but their personalities shown the brightest when together. An entirely push and pull relationship, it's easy to relate to Sarah's hesitancy to have anything to do with Jack. The first time they're finally able to be together, it ends in disaster....or more appropriately, blue balls. So why try again, right? But that's exact what Jack does...try and try again. Each hook up seems to be more frustrating than the last. And you can't help but wonder if each time will be THE time, or what ridiculous situation Sarah and Jack will find themselves in next. The romantic aspect of Blue Balls was utterly endearing, and you'll catch yourselves with hearts in your eyes and butterflies in your stomach. The unique dynamic between Sarah and Jack drove the story forward, immersing the reader in the HEA outcome you hope the characters will have. Incredibly well written, this book will make you laugh out loud and swoon hard, all at the same time!

    Super Funny Romance

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This story was beyond wonderful. I really believe you should read Clam Jam before this book as all the characters and events happen in that book. This book can stand alone but Clam Jam is terrific and this is part two of that book. This book starts the previous year from when most of this book takes place. It starts at Ry and Maggie's engagement party. Jack/Cupcake is single and he and Maggie's bestie, Sarah/Sunshine are super attracted and decide to have a fling. But as the title of this book is Blue Balls, Jack suffers through that alot. After the fling that never happens they separate for a year when Sarah travels. The book really starts one year later when she moves back to town. There is a lot of flirting, non dating, getting ready for the WEDDING and even a 10 year reunion and a wedding crashed and LOTS and LOTS of blue balls. LOTS!!! Through it all commitment phobe Sarah and Jack fall hard for the other while suffering episode after episode of you guessed it....Blue Balls. This book is very cute. Jack is a wonderful guy and Sarah is afraid of turning into her mother romantically and this book is very flirty and fun. I loved how Jack and Sarah are there for each other through everything and I LOVE their love of 80's movies. This is not a short book. It has close to 50 chapters, a prologue and 2 epilogues. I LOVED that we get such a romantic story and really get into each others heads. I also loved how involved Maggie and Ry are in this story. This was a wonderful story and I loved every second. While it is not super HOT, it is very light reading with no heavy angyst.

Funny, sexy, flirty, well written, unique!

Blue Balls is a roller-coaster. Seriously, it’s one hell of a ride and I spent 99,9% of it laughing out loud! It can be read as a standalone but I definitely recommend Clam Jam to be read first (trust me, Ry and Maggie’s story is totally worth it). Sarah and Jack have been attracted to each other ever since they met and now they are both single… and the chemistry between them is hot, hot, hot! Sarah is hilarious. Her thoughts are a little crazy, she even compares her glare to Darth Vader’s “little Jedi move” (you know, he remotely – as in without physical contact – chokes people) and I loved her craziness but sometimes it got a little repetitive. Jack is sexy, witty and so easy to love. I loved him in Clam Jam and he did not disappoint in his own story! Mr. Blue Balls is something else! Sarah and Jack really wanted to give in to their attraction but they kept getting blocked, it was absolutely funny and refreshing even though sometimes I wondered if it would actually happen between them! While I kept loving Jack more and more through the story, Sarah slowly started to annoy me. I wanted to shake her and tell her to open her eyes to see what was right in front of her and of course that’s mainly because I really, really loved Jack. If you love romantic comedies, I highly recommend Clam Jam and Blue Balls. Blue Balls is funny, sexy, flirty, well written, unique, low-angst and will definitely make you laugh out loud.

    Laugh until your side hurts

My side hurts. I laughed so hard at this book! Jack and Sarah, who are introduced in Clam Jam, are absolutely perfect together. They just have absolutely HORRIBLE luck when it comes to the hanky-panky. You name it, it interrupts (and maybe some you haven't thought of). Can be read as a standalone, but why deprive yourself of the equally funny Clam Jam. Since finding RC Boldt's books, she has become one of my favorite "click-first, then enjoy" authors. Rom-com or not.
