    Awesome

Loved this book! It made me smile hard and I wasn't ready for it to end. The combo of the nerdy biochemist Hayden and the all alpha ex SEAL Beck was perfection. Commitment and relationship are words Beck doesn't use and Hayden has no interest in but when these two have a hot and steamy encounter in the back room of Beck's bar it's evident their chemistry is explosive. Seeing her again wasn't in the plan but there is something about the professor that has Beck seeking her out and going back again and again. You want to see how these two handle things. I highly recommend this one.

Quick, Fun, Romance and a lot of Tequila

This book was just O.K., really more of a 3.5 than a 4 star book. I have read a lot of books by Jamieson and I generally enjoy them. Body Shot was a quick and enjoyable read, however, I didn't feel much of a connection to the characters. While both Hayden and Beck were likable they were both kind of one dimensional. Hayden was going to cure cancer and Beck was going to just do whatever he enjoyed with his days while working at his bar. That's it. The end of their character development. Oh, and Beck was a secret billionaire and former Navy Seal. (Because it wouldn't be good enough to just be one or the other.) Also, there was waaaay too much info about tequila. So much so that I began to worry that this book may have been a cry for help from the author. (Hopefully, not.) I get that they were at a tequila tasting event but I just ended up skipping all the detailed description of tequila cause I seriously do not care about the nuances of booze. If you like Kelly Jamieson this is a book worth reading, although, it is definitely not her strongest book. I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Steamy read, nice start to a series.

This is a steamy read. Hayden is a nerd who is focused on work and the plan for her life. Her friend Cassie drags her out for a night of fun where Hayden meets Beck. Now Beck is full of fun and adventure, covering up his painful memories as a SEAL and his family. The two heat up whenever they are together, but they also complement each other. Together, they are better people. I really enjoyed this story and hope to see more of the owners of the Conquistadors. I recommend this book. A feel good romance!

I was excited when I learned the Kelly Jamieson was starting a new series and it definitely lived up to what I was hoping for! Beck Whitcomb needed to prove that he could be independent and make it on his own despite what his parents might think. He is a former Navy SEAL who now owns a tequila bar with two of his best friends, but it's the loss of his brother and the love that his parents just don't want to return that have caused him to close himself off to relationships. Hayden Miles has been on her own for awhile due to the loss of both of her parents at a young age. She's a researcher who has thrown herself almost solely into her work when she is not helping out her aunt and uncle who have been an important part of her life following the loss of her parents. Hayden's aunt and uncle, along with her friend Carrie encourage her to do more with her life and to get out and have some fun, but that's easier said than done for the very applied brainiac. When Carrie gets Hayden to go to a tequila tasting at the bar that Beck happens to co-own, the sparks fly between the two almost immediately. While they both agree to keep it "fun", Beck vows to try to make the rigid minded Hayden a little more spontaneous and to help her step outside her well structured box. Will he succeed in getting her to loosen up and have more fun? Or is it going to be a case where they both help bring out the sides of one another that might be a bit buried? Kelly Jamieson has created really wonderful characters, including the friends of Beck and Hayden. Oh, and Beck is sexy as they come! This was a book that had it all, romance, fun, steamy love scenes and a whole lot of sexy and sweet. I can't wait for the next one in the series! **ARC provided by NetGalley for an honest review**

    Hot, hot, hot

3.5 Stars Scorching hot sex and an unexpected romance are on the menu alongside multiple flavors of tequila, when a buttoned-up, reserved scientist loosens up enough to have some fun with a former Navy SEAL turned bartender. Hayden Miles does not have time for fun. Instead she focuses all her energy on her research and building her fledgling business, but a girl's got to let her hair down sometimes even if it's under pressure, right? And what could be more out of the box than a liquor tasting experience? While she's prepared to force herself to have some fun, her defenses are not strong enough to withstand the attractive bartender who is laser-focused on her. Can she have both her career and a relationship or will she have to choose between them? Beck Whitcomb walked away from a life of wealth and privilege as the scion of a blue blood family to become a Navy SEAL and he found a place to belong with his brother-in-arms that he could not find with his own family. Opening a bar with his best friends is the next best thing and he's happy to play the field, until Hayden. What starts out casually is becoming very serious and Beck has to choose between his own happiness and falling in line with the plans his parents have for him. BODY SHOT was entertaining and I enjoyed the progression of Hayden and Beck's relationship from casual to serious as well as the lack of angst. The story has a laid-back feel to it, but with undercurrents like Beck's issues with his family and Hayden's reasons for being so locked down. I like that both Beck and Hayden were straightforward and no-drama characters who respected each other when they got to know each other better. At the same time though, they both felt a little stereotypical and I wasn't excited by them. Separately, I enjoyed getting to know them, but as a couple there was some sort of disconnect for me and I just couldn't muster up enough enthusiasm for their coupledom. However, I have to admit that Ms. Jamieson excels at delivering blistering passion and there is a lot of that in this book so, if you enjoys reading about sheet-burning sexy times, click away. If you love low drama in your romance, BODY SHOT is the book for you. Disclaimer: I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.
