  • Action right from the start.

I really enjoyed this fast pace novel. It starts right into the action. It is a fun read. I enjoyed the development of the character. It was also nice to finally read a book that was told through the eyes of a man. It was an easy read, and a lot of fun.

  • Bound by prophecy

It was confusing. I kept wondering when the time would come that would explain why the brothers were at odds and what the prophecy said

  • Complex family connections

The Division and the Council - both have powers that the Commonbloods (humans) don’t. The Council is all about power and are happy to misuse the humans while the Division are happy being a secret group protecting the humans. Aern is the brother of Morgan (the Council leader) and Aern has delivered Brianna to the Division to protect her - there is a prophecy that she is important to the world. Her twin sister Emily wants to join her sister.
