  • An astonishing piece of literature

The world depicted by Huxley in this book is a distopia drawn with wit and farsight. One would be clearly tempted to compare it with Orwell’s 1984. This book has merits. The biggest is probably one: distraction is a much more powerful mean of control of the masses than coercion. Have you ever been sucked into a hole through a hand-held device?

  • A surprisingly quick and good read

Its a shame to have not read such a classic, so I gave it a try. It's obviously a bit aged but still an easy read and not too long. One can understand why it has become such a classic.

  • Brave new world

Simplistic, not well written, follows the eugenicists view of humanity in the early part of the 20th century. Disappointing and not worth all the publicity it's received over all the years

  • Fascinating prediction of the future

Can't think of anything negative about this book. The plot was interesting and characters and society it describes seemed different but still somehow plausible despite book's age. The beginning with loads of miniscule details might seem boring at first but they help to build overall story and feel of the book. Highly recommended if you are anyhow interested in sci-fi and/or dystopias.

Foi escrito em meados do século XX... Mas parece cada vez mais com hoje.
