    Amazing

Hats off to Patrick for telling your story. As a hockey parent so many parents and especially coaches need to read this. The years you went through the turmoil were the years that abuse was starting to be acknowledged and there was no excuse for your coaches and hockey organizations, at whatever level, to ignore what they saw and heard.

This isn't about hockey; this tells of child abuse

What a sad story. This is not a hockey story; the backdrop is hockey but this is a story of child abuse. O'Sullivan has to be admired for having made it through the abuse his father heaped on him and for having had the courage to express it in this book. It is so apparent that the many adults associated with his hockey teams recognized his situation but did not have the courage to assist him. O'Sullivan's style is painfully candid; accordingly, it is not easy to read but that is not an indictment on the writing, only further commentary on how difficult his life was.

    Breaking away

I had to really focus on what point he was making here. Left you with a lot of things to wonder and worry about. No child should ever go through this. Ever!
