    Lilly and Roger

4.5 stars Lilly is pretty self absorbed at the beginning of the story. As long as she gets what she wants she doesn’t even consider what her actions do to others. As soon as she realizes that she’s going to lose Roger she sets up a scandal to trap him. I understood Roger’s anger. Lilly has already humiliated him by refusing his proposal after two years of courtship for a man with a title and more money. The about face on her part just doesn’t seem sincere. He sees it as one more manipulation. It takes sincere honesty from Lilly before Roger can begin to see beyond his anger. I liked that Lilly was finally concerned about someone besides herself. She didn’t want her behavior to impact Roger or her friends’ standing in society by associating with her in public. I enjoyed the sweet ending.
