    Excellent

Fun light read that was completely entertaining! When maid of honor Dani Brown finds out her no good, run for the hills ex, Jamie Kingsland, is the best man at the upcoming wedding, she wants to throttle both the bride and her ex. But the bride is her best friend so she has no choice but to suck it up and play nice. Then when the bride asks her to keep Jamie occupied so he can't spew his anti marriage venom at the groom, things really get interesting!! This was a great read and one I highly recommend.

    Battling the Best Man

4.5 Stars! Do you have a friend you would do absolutely anything for? Dani loves her best friend so much she is willing to entertain her commitment-phobic ex-boyfriend. Roxy is terrified her fiancé, Kyle, will get some bad martial advice from his best man, Jamie. She asks Dani to keep Jamie occupied any way possible. One night out on the streets of Seattle rekindles Jamie and Dani's friendship. Dani knows she is not over Jamie, and he sees that he might have made a mistake running away from Dani when she confessed her love for him. The first book in Wedding Favors series gave me a titillating tale of second chances. Brux wove a story full of emotion, passion, and hilarious situations that kept me laughing out loud and reaching for my tissues to wipe away the accompanying tears. I loved the banter between Dani and Jamie, giving me a real sense of their long-time friendship before their romantic relationship began. The chemistry seemed ingrained in the one-time couple's DNA. Even when Dani had ideations of hurting Jamie for what he did to her, she could not hold back her attraction to her former lover or her longing for her old friend. I can't believe that I have missed out on Boone Brux's stories until now. She is an extraordinary storyteller and I can't wait to read more from her soon. Thanks so much to Boone Brux and Entangled Lovestruck for gifting me with a copy of Bridesmaid Blues in exchange for an honest review.

    BRIDESMAID BLUES

3.5 Stars Who doesn’t love a second chance story? I like the idea of a couple reuniting during their friends’ wedding and realizing that they can’t live without each other. And I still do even after reading BRIDESMAID BLUES. Dani Brown has got a-maid-of-honor assignment, to distract the best man until after the wedding. The only problem with this is that the best man is her ex, who dumped her almost a year ago but Dani is willing to take one for the team. Even though she’s still in love with Jamie, Dani is determined to keep her interactions with him fun and lighthearted. Both Jamie and Dani still share a sizzling attraction and soon find themselves adding benefits to their renewed friendship but is it possible to have a friends-with-benefits relationship with the ex who broke your heart, without wanting more? I liked Dani because she was fearless about going for what she wanted and even if her boldness led to her making misguided choices, she made no apologies for them. Jamie is by far the most unlikable hero I have ever read about, with almost no redeeming qualities. He’s an overgrown man-child with daddy issues, who is still trying to earn his father’s love and approval to no avail, even as he himself runs away from commitment and I think that Dani was too good for him. His about-face from commitment-phobe to wanting forever with her was too abrupt for me. She should have kicked him to the curb, but that’s just my opinion. And oh! Don’t get me started on Roxy. Intense dislike is an understatement for how I feel about being manipulated ‘for my benefit’ so that button got pushed big-time! I can’t say that I loved BRIDESMAID BLUES, but it certainly evoked very strong feelings in me, if my rant-y review is anything to go by and I have to give kudos to Ms. Boone for taking a risk in writing these characters like this. In spite of my mixed feelings about this book, I’m actually interested in the stories of the other secondary characters. Had so much fun with this story.

Bridesmaid Blues is immensely entertaining. I laughed so hard that I cried. It was so obvious to me that Dani and Jamie still had unresolved feelings for each other. The setting of these two encountering each other at a wedding brought emotions to a a head. Had so much fun with this story. I may just read it again. Received an ARC for an honest review.
