    Thanks for your feedback!

    Good read, very touching.

Lavan is one of the sweetest characters there ever was, but I must say a warning, keep the tissues close, between wanting to strangle some of these characters and all the heartaches these heralds go through, I never open a book without tissues close at hand.

    Another great book by Mercedes

I always love anything by Mercedes Lackey. This book definitely didn't disappoint. Such a good book!

Great book - better than expected!

Although I expected this book was to be kind of a tragedy, I think it was actually more bittersweet. There were parts that even almost brought a tear to my eye. Kalira was a hero just as much as Lan was, although she rarely got the credit (except from him, of course). Although i know her almost ridiculous lightheartedness was meant to balance out and be a foil for Lan's somber and slightly (usually justifiably) vengeful nature, it did still seem a bit over the top sometimes. Same goes for Tuck's devil-may-care treatment of going to war... but I think the description of Lavan's pyrotechnic achievements on the battlefield kind of made up for those trivial ills. And it will never cease to please me that I even have to look up a word now and then! It's with both humility and joy that I salute someone whose vocabulary and love of words is even more extensive than mine! Two thumbs up.

This is the book the got me hooked on Valdemar's stories. I have read this book three or four times and I always fall in love again.
