    Gentle romance

This is the second book in this series and I am loving them. Hatherway house is a treatment centre for badly injured military men with life changing injuries, it is run by Dani, who fell in love with Aaron in the first book, and her father who was also injured in the service of his country. Brock arrives at the centre full of anger, the deep seated reason being the fact that he was injured and lost his leg in a car accident in america rather than in battle in Afghanistan. He was at Hatherway House for 4 months with little or no progress..... that is until he encountered the sweet but formidable Sidney who had just returned from 9 months advanced training. Sidney socked it to him straight between the eyes, he either worked with her and got better or he went back to the hospital, she left no room for argument. This story is about the mental as well as the physical healing, sometimes the scars go deep, Sidney, along with the rest of his team and the sanctuary's animals gradually gained Brock's trust and a gentle romance started. There were pitfalls along the way but nothing was insurmountable. If you are looking for an action packed, guns blazing story then this is not the book for you but if you are looking for a gentle romance with lots of Psychological healing you will love this book. As always, Dale Mayer has researched the mental as well as physical trauma that these people encounter and it shows. I mentioned that this book was second in a series but it can be easily read as a standalone although I am sure you will get more enjoyment from starting at the beginning. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    Brilliant Read

Hathaway House take critically injured men and women and their dedicated team use their many skills to heal them not only physically but also emotionally. This time Brock is the patient and Sidney is tasked with helping him regain as much of his previous physical well-being as possible. Sparks fly and the chemistry between them is incredible. Finally Brock has someone to live for. How they tackle this is written as always with great skill and empathy making this a beautiful and enjoyable story.

    Hathaway House series

I've actually read 4 of these so far and I will continue to read others in this series because the struggles and triumphs of the characters is honest. I have had similar struggles and overcome my limitations when I lost everything too. Today I'm happy and whole. Thank you!

Can’t wait for the next book

Now I loved the first book in this series and I thought I had everything with Aaron but then Dale Mayer goes and ruins it all for me for other book boyfriends by giving us Brock. Brock is at Hathaway house to try and get his life back after an accident whilst in the military. He meets Sidney a physio who is good at what she does although she does ruffle a few feathers. She gets Brock moving but rumours may have her leaving. This is a warming tale of love when you least expect it. I am seriously looking forward to the next book.

    Makes you feel and care

Book 2 In Dale Mayers new series, Hathaway House. These are G rated, anyone can read. Feel the emotion of the wounded warriors, the emotion of the staff. The fine line they walk trying to make sure the wounded have everything they need, but entice them to do for themselves. The emotional and mental as well as the physical. I don't know if I am still in love with Aaron that I didn't do Brock justice, or if Brocks personality and mine just didn't click. But hey he has straight shooting, tell it like it is, Sidney in his corner. She laid it out there, but didn't lose compassion. In this one we meet few more therapists and learn that people are the same everywhere, i.e. hurt feelings and office politics Just as I was ready for Marsha to disappear, Sidney grabbed the bull by the horns and dealt with it. Her willingness to explore all avenues and step back and check her self make her top notch. When we found out Brocks area of expertise my first thought was hey, put him to work there. Another book that makes you feel and care. Thank you for the arc Dale Mayer, Booksprout. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.
