  • loved every word

Absolutely loved this story. There are some tears along with the way. Such an emotional story at times. So worth every word. Could not put this one down. The things Rhett and Sienna have to deal with at such a young age but together they get through it all. I love Rhett’s character. He is not what Sienna thought he was. A typical jock playboy. Is she surprised when the subject of past partners comes up and she finds out his. Sienna and Rhett are perfect for one another. Along with the tears in their story there is so much humor. Sienna is such a strong character. The Valley U guys and girls are what lifetime friendships are all about. They all care about each other and support each other. That is what makes this series special. Each gets their own story, but they all play such an important role in everyone else’s. Rhett and Sienna is the most emotional one of all and will truly have you glued to each word.

  • an engaging college sports romance

This author never fails to write an engaging college sports romance that is has an entertaining storyline and relatable, likable characters. Broken Hearts is perhaps my favorite book which says a lot because I love all of this author’s novels! The opening scene with Rhett was marvelous! I tried so hard not to laugh, but oh goodness that scene was so well done and it definitely captured my attention. I found Rhett to be charming and I loved Sienna’s strength and kind-hearted soul. The banter between these two was humorous and they made such an amazing couple. There was sweetness and steam and I loved everything about them! Things between each other started off a little rocky and there were some rather emotional moments that made for the perfect amount of drama in this novel. As usual, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention all of the secondary characters. Family isn’t always by blood and it is evident that Rhett’s teammates, significant others, and Sienna’s friends are all family. A family that supports one another, offers not always solicited advice, and brings about moments of levity. The author also perfectly depicts what it is like to be a college student - the joys of being independent, the forging of good friendships, but also uncertainty in mapping out one’s path. All of these things also contribute to what makes this novel such an engaging and enjoyable read. Broken Hearts is a part of this author’s Campus Nights series. It can be read as a standalone but your experience will be enhanced if you have read the previous books. Plus the two earlier novels are excellent! This is a book that I definitely recommend and I cannot wait for the next novel in the series!

  • Swoooony

THIS SERIES! I have honestly loved EVERY SINGLE BOOK in the Campus Nights series from Rebecca Jenshak. Each couple is so unique in their issues, but so real, and so good for each other. Rhett and Sienna are so stickin’ cute. Something I love about Rebecca Jenshak’s books is that I can be laughing my butt off in one chapter, and then clutching my heart with all the emotions I’m feeling in the next. And I do have to say the beginning this book had me laughing pretty hard! I’ve been so curious about Rhett this whole time because we met him in the previous books. He’s in this weird long distance relationship that isn’t a great one and the guys don’t exactly support. From what little glimpses we get of him, I also got this impression of him being a very sweet and loyal guy, but really getting him to know him in this book was so much better! The first interactions he has with Sienna are hilariously awful. But the progression of them together had me very, very invested. Sienna was a very interesting character, because we get to see her later on in her growth where she has a great maturity and handle on her situation. Everything she’s dealt with, and is still currently dealing with health-wise, really made her fascinating. We don’t get to see her growth as much, but she still pulls you into the story. I also really enjoyed her friendship with Silas. What the friendship is built on and how they were there for each other in a way only they could was heartwarming. I think what I love the most about series that have standalone books is that you get the complete story in one book, but you get to revisit the characters throughout the other books. It makes me feel like there’s this group of people that you’re really invested in and you really want to see them get their happy ever afters! And not only do you get to see them get their happy ever after, you then get to see them living their happy ever after while their friends are on their own personal journey. They all experience major ups and downs, but their friends have their backs. The thing about Rebecca‘s books is that while she can definitely have you laughing your butt off, she also covers the real issues that people deal with on differing levels. The characters in this one are just so great! I appreciate all of the side characters in different ways, and I’m definitely looking forward to learning more about Maverick and Dakota as the series continues!

  • Loved this Beautiful, Sweet and Steamy Romance!

I was so excited for Rhett's story and it was so much more than I could hope for. Rhett and Sienna's beautiful story was so sweet and steamy, but had so much emotion and heart that I didn't want it to end! Rhett is fresh off a long term relationship and is trying to move on. He hasn't had much success, and it only gets worse when he has a disastrous run in with a beautiful figure skater on the ice. Sienna is on the Valley U figure skating team and she needs to focus on her routines. She doesn't have time for a hockey player who will only break her heart. Rhett works hard to win her trust, and she doesn't give in easily. But when he finally wins her over, they are explosive together. They are so good together and she gains a new supportive family with the hockey team and their girlfriends. But what happens when tragedy strikes and the thought of mortality is too much to bear? I really love Rhett and Sienna together. Sienna is strong, independent, and never let Rhett get away with anything, while supporting him unconditionally. Rhett is so sweet, and loyal, and was so swoony as he helped Sienna see that she was imperfectly perfect. Jenshak has weaved a beautiful and touching story that deals with such sensitive subjects with honesty, and empathy while making them fun as well. I love this Valley U universe and all the funny, supportive and loyal characters I've come to care about. Maverick played a huge role in this story as well and I can't wait for his story next in Wild Love!

  • One of the best hockey romances ever

I knew before starting Broken Hearts, I was going to love it. Rebecca Jenshak never disappoints and this book isn’t an exception. From the first chapter to the last, this book had me laughing, smiling and a few sniffles thrown in. One thing I really like about Rebecca’s book series is the friendships that are in all of her books and they always make appearances. Now let’s get to the real heart of the book, the core romance between Rhett and Sienna! Their relationship was well played out from the very start and written well! The first meeting between the two was brilliant. I love Rhett. He’s hot yet sweet and a bit sleepy :). I felt for Sienna and what she goes through and love her friendship with Elias. I don’t wanna go to in-depth because spoilers lol. But just know if you love a well written athletic romance, this is the book for you! I kept seeing the time left go down and I was upset that it was slowly ending. I could’ve happily read another 400 pages. Also, just like the other books Maverick plays a huge part and his book comes out soon! You can preorder it now as well! 5 HUGE stars once again!!!
