    Murder in the Irish Countryside!

I recently won a book from this series, but it is set later in the series. I've found I don't enjoy series books as well when I read them out of order as each book typically builds upon the characters personality foundations and makes each book more enjoyable than the last. If the book I won, is as good as this first book, I'm going to be a happy, happy reader! This cozy mystery series is set in Cork County, Ireland. Maura was born and raised in Boston, MA and finds herself at loose ends after the grandmother who raised her passes away. However, the grandmother made Maura promise her she would travel to the grandmother's hometown in Ireland as soon as possible so Maura can learn about her Irish roots. Being granted dual citizenship at birth, needed to move out of her apartment right away and not having anyone she is close to, Maura decides right away works fine. She finds herself in a new place with only an old friend of her grandmothers to contact and the past slowly starts to reveal itself in an unusual way. Maura finds herself in the middle of a murderous mess with someone trying to scare her back out of the country. Will Maura have the moxy to stay and fight for her future or will she turn tail and run back to the states where nothing waits for her? I have to say, this book was quite well written and very believable. I loved the plotting as the twists were interestingly entangled. The characters are very well developed and I think they will only reveal themselves even more as each story unwinds itself. I can't wait to read the next one as I'm dying to get to the book I actually won! LOL, my OCD of not reading books out of order is seriously paying off well so far!

    Great Story

I enjoyed the story and feel that it was very well written. The descriptions of the townland, the pub and the people made it easy to imagine it. Looking forward to reading the next book!

    I love the story telling

The characters are wonderful their lives come into your life and you want to be part of theirs. I immediately bought the series. Hoping this is a long run of many books to come. WL Kromer

Sheila Connolly’s Buried In a Bog

Come along with Maura Donovan as she embarks on a trip to the Irish countryside. She is going to seek out her family after her last relative, her Grandmother passed. Maura plans to stay for one week in Leap, County Cork but once she is there she takes a job at the local pub whose owner just passed. She finds that the pub is a busy place at certain times and her experience from working bars in the United States lets her fit in right away. The description of the Irish countryside will put the reader right there. It is beautifully pictured. During her first week, a dead man is found in a bog. The body had been there for years. He is unidentifiable. Next a man who stopped by the pub is found robbed and murdered. Maura finds a letter written to Old Mick, the deceased owner looking for a relative in the area. Could this be the man who went missing years ago in the bog?? Maura finds herself having attempts made on her life. Having only being in Leap for several days, who could possibly want to harm her?? An interesting, informative and intriguing read.

    My Thoughts

There is a little bit of Ireland in all of us. Those who have a Celtic lineage have varied amounts, of course there are those of pure Irish ancestry, and some who are Irish one day a year in honor of St Patrick. We love the music, the stories, the dancing, and that little bit of Gaelic we all learn. This book brings it all home with a great story line, believable characters, vivid descriptions of a beautiful land, and a desire to read the next book in the series. Enjoy 🍀
