  • Reality TV Baking is Murder

Donna just discovered that the American version of her favorite British baking show is coming to Legacy and the inn will be hosting three contestants. She’s disappointed, however, that all the bakers have been chosen, although a vacancy pops up soon … and Donna is able to snag a coveted spot. Her fellow contestants are a motley crew, none of whom are the person they’re portraying. The grandmotherly Marjorie is only on the show to snag a third husband, while Harley is really an actress looking for her big break. Donna and Prashant are the only contestants with any real skill, but the focus is soon on the injured and dying participants. Donna’s curiosity and sleuthing skills lead her to a surprising suspect whose competence in their chosen profession is minimal, but their delusion and murder skills are second to none. Wyatt is also at the top of her game as she closes out the Painted Lady series with a celebratory conclusion to Donna and Mark’s adventures.

  • Who will wim the bake off?

Cakewalk to Murder is to be the last story in The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries series. I feel like Mark and Donna have become friends I will really miss. Each book has been better than the last one so the series is ending on a really high note. Donna is stretch thin in this story. She had bakers and production crew staying at her inn. After a contestant is murdered, Mark suggests Donna as the replacement baker. Now Donna is baking for the show, baking for the inn guests and trying to solve the murder. The plot is well executed with many red herrings. I think you will really enjoy this book.

  • CAKEWALK TO MURDER

CAKEWALK to MURDER... M.K Scott Donna hadn’t talked to her mother or Janice yet,so didn’t know the news till Mark her husband came home. He was a detective and loved to question her. American television wants a similar show like the British Bake Off, and they were coming to their quaint village. To win, would be the bragging rights, that you would always claim to. In article, your business it would always be mentioned. All the contestants are already chosen, only if one drops dead. would she be in. Involved once again in a murder, she figured it out. The person wanted to kill off the rival, now to get a confession, without being killed herself. A good plot, and interesting of how she figured out why. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

  • Cakewalk to Murder

Cakewalk to Murder is the first book I have read by M K Scott and is, also, the tenth installment from The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries series. I loved this quick and fun read. This little mystery kept me entertained throughout with twists and turns mixed in with some humor that had me laughing. I am giving Cakewalk to Murder five stars. I would love to catch up with the other stories in The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries. I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

  • A good mystery!

Reviewed by Joanie Chevalier for Readers' Favorite The tagline for Calkwalk to Murder by MK Scott is “A baking show stirs up a lot more than batter,” and that is the perfect description of this fun and easy to read mystery. As soon as the crew and contestants arrive at the picturesque The Painted Lady Inn in the small town of Legacy, drama ensues. Donna, the proprietor of The Painted Lady Inn, desperately wants to be a contestant in The Majestic Bakeoff but is disappointed to learn there are plenty of contestants already. Donna calls herself a professional observer rather than a busybody, and she puts her professional observing into action right away when a contestant is murdered. The icing on the scone, so to speak, is that Donna takes the woman’s spot on the show and she eagerly shows off her baking skills. The fact that her husband is the lead detective in the case will not stop her from snooping around to find the killer. In Cakewalk to Murder by MK Scott, Donna has her hands full, both in dough by being a contestant in The Majestic Bakeoff, a television show that came to town, and the murder of a contestant. The contestants, though, were not who they seemed, but were all playing a role given to them by the director, so Donna had a harder job of determining who among them was a murderer. What I liked about Calkwalk to Murder were the red herrings sprinkled throughout and the side stories of Donna’s mother, who secretly took off to who knows where, and Ten, her college-aged assistant and his girl troubles. The recipes at the back of the book are an added bonus for The Painted Lady Inn fans. A perfect story for readers who love a good mystery.
