  • Brilliant

My favourite so far of the Cormaron Strike novels. A compelling page turner centering on an evil criminal but which also builds on a fascinating relationship between Strike and Robin. Start your journey with the first novel in this series, The Cookoo's Calling.

  • Brilliant

I love this series! In this novel, the whodunnit aspect is especially good. I had no idea who the killer was! I read a lot of mystery/suspense/thriller books and I can almost always pick up on the clues and figure out who is committing the crimes. Someone sends Robin a severed leg and Strike is sure the killer is one of three men from his past. The author gives us very good reasons to think it could be any one of these men. While Strike and Robin are busy trying to solve the crime, we get glimpses of their pasts and a lot is revealed. As in the other novels, Strike and Robin are trying to keep their relationship completely professional, but you can tell that they care about each other. There is no hint of romance between them, but you can almost see it, almost... The ending was absolutely great and I can't wait for the next novel in the series.

  • Wonderful

The best one so far. She managed to capture the killer's twisted mind, and in doing so, she allowed us to understand how and why some women stay around their abusers for so long.

  • Fits the story

Exciting, hard to put down. Keeps you wondering what is happening until the end. The never ending changes in the characters also keeps you wondering.

  • Loved it

Another awesome Strike novel! Loved it all......except for maybe the connotation at the end......there better be a fourth novel in the making!
