I really fell in love with Damon and Dani!!!

ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review ------------------------- Layla Hagen wrote each story as magical. Caught in Us (Lost 3), is the third book in this amazing series is. Each book can be read as a stand-alone because it focuses on other couples. I really fell in love with Damon and Dani. What a great story! I was smiling the whole time I was reading this. This book is very different from the other two books. Caught in Us, was a road from darkness to light, it was like a fairy tale. You're looking with love in your eyes while reading this book. I really loved this couple. Dani is a typical shy girl that nobody notices. Dani, with her rich family and good grades appears to have a bright future ahead of her, but not all is what it seems like. Damon is the typical bad boy. He seems very shameless, but behind this image he hides a broken heart. Life can sometimes be difficult for some, it is sometimes easy. Love is beautiful, but did Dani and Damon possess this beautiful love? I loved every aspect of the book from the beginning to the end. I smiled throughout the book, and I did not want to stop. This book left a smile on my heart and my face. I felt like I was back in high school. It was an absolutely beautiful and warm story. The best advice I can give you is to read this book. And after reading you’ll see the magnificant story telling of Layla. It was definitely a story I read with pleasure. Layla Hagen, I want to thank you for this beautiful story. I'm happy that I read this book. P.S: You will not be disappointed. I strongly recommend it to anyone. One-click it and read it.

Sweet, endearing, also funny and definitely sexy

First love always feels perfect. That's what I got from reading this beautifully written romance. It's sweet, endearing, also funny and definitely sexy. The heartfelt words painted the story in a fresh, slow-burning arc that completely enthralled me. At first, the characters seem to collide against each other, but then they are drawn to each other's qualities. They heal and inspire. Dani is a warm, lonely, smart girl whose gentle smile is exactly what calms the poisonous anger that boils inside Damon. I really liked their conversations where they learn about their mutual strengths and weaknesses. The romance that blossoms between them is just so pretty, yet also extremely sensual. I loved how things escalated becoming reckless and daringly romantic. Both characters evolve in transcending ways because of their time together. I relished those changes, the way they love each other, the unfair and painful wreck their relationship ends up being. Both the drama and the romance was engaging and poignant. I enjoyed the second chance at love as much as the gentle, arousing passion. With a final part that brings about warmth, smiles, sighs, tension, and contentment in equal doses, I can only conclude that Caught in Us is a beautiful, sweet, and refreshing addition to a series that never disappoints. It was great to reacquaint myself with the characters from the previous two books, and I'd love to read Hazel's story too. I was even sorry for the bad guy who also happens to have a reason for his torn, black heart. Besides the whole story, I'll take with me one particular visit to a chocolate factory that... OMG! I wish I could reproduce it myself ;-) Favourite quote: There is an insatiable craving inside of me for him. It consumes me permanently, but roars louder and more demanding when he's nearby.

    Intoxicating read!

Intoxicating words to make you keel over, I'll catch you if you fall and he grounds me, his stares spears me, you need to read the book to grasp the essence of it. You absolutely made me laugh and I mean really laugh out loud. I was sighing and going all 'ga ga' with Dani and Damon. The teasing and banter, spot on. Their wits made me laugh so much so it made up for Chase's potty mouth but he grows on you. Chase is a character but he added the right spice to a hot story and he got his girl. The story moved swiftly and intelligently with no re-reading a page to understand what was going on. I like the fierce impulses that radiated throughout. When the characters lead up to their playfulness or other exploits, I was overwhelmed with emotions. Whether I made sounds of a 'sigh' or grimace or flinch, or showed distress or hmm . . . I did it all. This tale made me so happy because how it ended. I can tell you I was irritated with Damon but you needed the bad boy attitude to pull off this story. There were times Damon irritated me like this part, he said to Dani, "Here's some friendly advice; don't throw yourself in a man's way if you don't want to be touched." Boy I got all huffy and said a few words of my own. Got to get my emotions in check, duh! Where there's a bad boy you know a good girl is close by and a nerd herd to boot, just added spice to the mix. I liked the pursuit and I'm here for you kind of thing. I was cracking up when Dani's auto-correct on her phone sends quite the message to Damon , "I meant cookies!!!" or "I meant Linkin Park!!! OMG!!! I'm not saying, read the book. Guess what the same thing happened to me many times, thank you very much. Another laughable part when Hazel summarize Lord of the Rings, the Gollum guy to Damon, he never seen the movie or read the book. You just have to read the book to get the gist of it. Love all the characters, each one contributed to the climax (no pun intended) of this story. The focus remained on Dani and Damon, how they are meant to be and how the both of them feed off of each other whether to have the comfort each lack in their family or an ear to listen when they needed someone to hear their ranting and raving and a hug when they needed the comfort and warmth of someone who cares. Dani's brother James, aww . . . perfect brother, one who will drive three hours and pick up ice cream just to comfort his sister who needed advice about something concerning Damon. Damon . . . Damon . . . Damon swoon worthy, "You hurt my sister I will beat you." "I used to fight, remember? I'd knock you out in no time." Sounds fun don't it? Well there's more and I mean much more excitement and behind the scene of anger, danger, hope, healing and family. Just the right amount of action and fisticuff but what I thoroughly enjoyed, the author's writing style, the wide range of storytelling in the most simplistic way that leaves a part of the story in your heart. Excellent! I received a digital download in exchange for a review. Thank you!

    A wonderful love story

Layla Hagen does it again. Her story telling is nothing short of miraculously entertaining. She gives each character life in a way it reaches readers and pulls you right into the plot. Dani Cohen remained a mysterious being when I first read about her. She has so much going on personally when she meets Damon a whole new meaning to the word mischief ensues. Dani is a great student and has everything going for her. Little would you know that is not the case at all. Her spunk gains more life being around Damon and his rough exterior. Damon, too, has a lot going on with missing his mother and dealing with a father who's been absent most of his life. Though he knows the real sentiment of love he received from his mother that is not enough to keep his exterior tough guy at bay, He sees how Dani influences the good in him and begins to enjoy her company. The story may be misleading and in a very good way because you never know what you are going to be surprised with. They both compliment each other in ways no one could understand if they didn't get to know the beautiful soul inside. I thoroughly enjoyed following their lives intertwine and them come apart. Will they make it? I kept cheering for them page after page realizing that what once became a true blossoming friendship may in fact catch up with you later in life. Friends to lovers is always a great beginning to a fulfilling life. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review and it did not disappoint. Cannot wait to read more of Layla Hagen's work

    beautifully inspiring and utterly ravishing

Caught in Us is a beautifully inspiring and utterly ravishing journey of allowing the light of hope and love to not only surround but penetrate the broken and hurting hearts of those that are living in darkness. Even those who find themselves wandering in the fringes of the gray areas between light and dark can choose to have the sun warm their face once again. There is never a shortage of hope when love is allowed to break through the impenetrable barriers around your heart. Never turn away from the most precious things in life because they could easily be the very things that could save you. Dani would seem to have the perfect life with her rich family, good grades, and bright future, but how often are those who seem to have everything really have nothing when they take a closer look? She finds the one things she desperately longs for in the new boy at school. Until Damon came along, she never realized just how empty her life was without the simple and pure love that he offers her. Even with the demons that Damon wrestles with, Dani can see the good and beauty in him no matter how worthless he thinks he is. She breathes life and hope into his grieving and broken heart. No matter how much he knows he should stay away from her to keep from dragging her down, his heart won’t let him walk away. She comes to mean everything to him, and he won’t turn his back on her. Will these two lonely souls find a way to stay together in order to heal each other, or will their choice be taken away in the name of doing what’s best for them? I absolutely fell in love with Dani and Damon throughout their story. They found their completion in the other, and they cherished the precious bond that they were building day after day. It was so wonderful to see how Damon treated Dani with such a depth of love, respect, and kindness in every way possible. He made her laugh, built up her confidence, and made sure she knew that he really saw her. While he couldn’t look into her soul or read her mind, he could tell what she needed and he gave it to her. Dani knew without a doubt that Damon cared about her, cherished their friendship, and did his best to protect her from himself and others that might try to hurt her. They were such an amazing couple whose miraculous love literally took my breath away. Layla Hagen has a tremendously incredible talent of opening your heart to her wonderful characters from the very first word. You feel every written word as if it originated from the beating of your own heart. The pace of her story is so natural and beautifully fluid, and the storyline will remain with you long after the last word has been read. This is one author that is not to be missed. The soul that is found within these pages will touch you like nothing else can. I challenge you to walk away from her books and not feel the light, hear the passion, and experience a one-of-a-kind love.
