    great rock romance

Kit Larson has loved Shawn Scarlett since the first time she heard him play at a school talent show. She developed a love of music and playing the guitar. One night she gives into temptation that turns into a reckless night with Shawn. That one mistake shatters her hope of ever having more than a passing moment with the gorgeous musician. Years later Kit’s rock star dreams are coming true when she lands a gig as the new guitarist for Shawn’s band. He doesn’t seem to remember a thing about their night together and Kit plans to keep it that way. Kit plans to concentrate on the release of the album even though she will be cooped up on a tour bus; inches away from the ridiculously sexy musician that she has always loved and could never stop thinking about no matter how hard she tried. As they spend more time together and get to know either and their mutual, attraction builds. Can they have a second chance at love? Or will secrets tear them apart? This is the third book in the Mayhem series; it can be read as standalone. I loved Kit, as the female character she was a cool tough rocker chick, just adored her to death. She grows up with a crazy tribe of four older brothers and an over protective father. Growing up with all that testosterone around when trying to be a young girl dating boys didn’t end well for poor Kit. Kit’s father would interrogate potential boyfriends to the point of scaring them away to protect Kit from life. Though frustrating for Kit her father and brothers overprotective ways made for some humorous and interesting reading. Shawn was a deliciously handsome rock god yet he was also a sweetheart. He is the guy that watches out for everyone around him. So when Kit joins the band he has no problem stepping up to get her acquainted with life on the road. The whole story was really well written, I will definitely check out the rest of the series. Even though I didn’t read the earlier books, I could still enjoy Kit and Shawn’s story. There were laughs, emotion and tears the perfect recipe for a romance novel. RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.

Jamie Shaw does Rock God Gold

I happily discovered Jamie Shaw as a brand new writer in "Mayhem" the first book in her rockstar series. I wrote a really positive review mentioning that although she was a very new writer she would hone her craft in books to come. I went on to read "Riot" the second book in the "Mayhem" series. I loved seeing the improvement and growth of her writing and how her characters got richer and more dimensional. I was so connected with the characters I anxiously waited for "Chaos" book 3 to emerge. I was wonderfully surprised when I was given a copy of Chaos pre-release from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. I admit I started the book and finished it in one evening. The characters just reached off the page and dragged me into their lives. I was totally engaged and could not put it down. We meet Shawn, our hero originally in book one as Adam's best friend and sometime smartass. In this novel he was still a bit of a manwhore enjoying his time being a young man with new fame. I thought he was a hoot and I was looking forward to learning more about him. Then in Book 2 we again saw him and got just a glimpse of our heroine Kit. This novel is Kit and Shawn's story. It starts back in high school and stalls. JS does a great job of letting us get into Kit's 15 year old headspace so we understand the angst she lived. I have to admit living that angst for 6 years was a bit much. I know at 15 you feel things deeply but by the time you are 21 and have had college and numerous boyfriends/hookups since, you would think it would have been a fond/or not so fond memory. I think holding to angst so tight and not letting it go even a bit is what caused me to rate this book 4 instead of 5 stars. Shawn..oh my poor Shawn, he just isn't quite sure what is happening. I absolutely loved sharing his feelings and connecting with him so much deeper in this novel. I do have to admit that Kit is the star of this book. She is one of the coolest main characters I have read in this genre. She is a true rock chick and I adored her. Her brothers were fantastic and so confrontational I could see the interactions clearly in my mind. Kale, Kit's twin is a wonderful sub story in this novel and watching him come into his own sexuality was like watching a bud finally bloom. It really touched me. The writing was sharp, the plot line engaging and clear but the characters is what makes this book stand tall among it's peers. I admit I not only want to read Mike's story *desperately* but also I would love a spinoff series of Kit's brothers. They are all unique individuals on their own but a real belly laugh when they all are together. I have to admit I have a real soft spot for Ryan and would love to read his story. As you can see I have nothing but really great things to say about this novel. I'm delighted to watch this author grow with each new book and I know we readers will be enjoying her "voice" for many books to come. I give Chaos a shiny 4 star rating and a t'irla recommendation to make this one of your top summer reads. This is part of a series but can be enjoyed as a stand alone novel as well. You really need to meet this group of rock-stars and their rock chicks!

    I've waited forever and I wasn't disappointed!

**Received book for free in exchange for an honest review** I'm a bad girl for writing my review for Chaos before writing my review for Riot. The great thing about being an adult is you can do whatever you want so, HA! As an active follower of the Mayhem series, I was super stoked to read Chaos and the only reason my review is so late is because, honestly, I couldn't find the right words to describe this book. I mean, we all know Shawn is a hottie and Kat is...she's phenomenal and a wild cat. But I wanted to say something different and new about this book, something you haven't heard from the many reviews this book has. So Jamie, if you're reading this, I'm sorry I couldn't find a better way to describe this book. You delivered and I fell in love...again. Not sure who I love better, Adam or Shawn. Peach is still my number one female character out of everyone mentioned in this series. I'm trying to get Jena in this series and she's read Mayhem (I think she said she likes it). I'm just waiting for the day where I can own all 3 (4 coming soon) of these lovely books on my shelf. That is, when I purchase an actual bookcase to hold all these paperbacks.

    so amazing.

My thoughts: Where do I even begin. I absolutely devoured this book. It was everything that I’ve come to expect from Jamie. Chaos gave me the perfect mix of witty humor and hotter than fire sexual tension. Shawn and Kit’s relationship has such a slow burn, with just the right amount of angst that you won’t stop reading it until you’ve finished! The characters in this book were nothing short of amazing. Kit is a kick ass heroine and tough rocker chick, but in this story we get to see a vulnerability in her that is something we can all relate to. Shawn, who is normally the level headed, steady guy, lets loose his passion when hes with Kit and ITS SO HOT OMG. The supporting characters in Chaos are also SO FUN. Each of Kit’s four brothers were so interesting individually that I can’t stop daydreaming about the day that we can convince Jamie to write each of them a book. (PLEASE OH PLEASE) The family dynamic between all of them is something I’ll never have enough of. We also see cameos of the couples from Mayhem and Riot, but in a way that does not take the attention away from Kit and Shawn. Also, CAN WE TALK ABOUT KITS WARDROBE? SO many times I read books and authors will describe the outfits of the characters and Im like.. WTF?! that doesnt even match? but with Jamie’s books I always have such a clear picture of what the character looks like and what they’re wearing that it makes the reading experience so much more enjoyable. I love when authors pay attention to the details! The only negative that I can find about Chaos is that I didnt get a cameo from my ultimate crush, Dee’s dad. *sigh* LOL! What I liked: The depth of the characters The intensity of the feelings The dynamic of Kit’s family THE OUTFITS. SO ON POINT.
