    Excellent read!

I learned a lot of things about the drug war that I had never even heard before. It was an interesting perspective and it's given me a lot to think about and decide how I feel about it. Almost all of his research and information about addiction and it's causes was new information as well. I'll be doing some research of my own to see what I can find independently. A well written and thought provoking book. I've already recommended it to others, and will continue to do so.

    Thought Provoking

As a former police officer (as well as the daughter & spouse of a police officer) I never questioned the war on drugs & the good it was striving for. This book has me rethinking if we've really done the right thing the past 70 years. Maybe it's time to try a new approach - maybe something that may actually work for the benefit of all members of society

    Great read!

This is an excellent thought provoking look at drug use today and it's effect on people. Hard to believe we have been banging our heads against the wall for a century! Definitely time for change.

Very good read - doubtful journalist rigurosity

The book presents a compelling case against the war on drugs, and it is very well written. I can only agree with its propositions. However ... in the only chapter in which I can give a substantiated opinion, which is the one that refers to Uruguay and former President José Mujica, the data presented contain systematic errors and is not based on any historical research, but on personal interviews to friends and family, who depict Mujica like a hero, instead of a former criminal, lately reformed. I wonder if the rest of the information in the book has been investigated with the same lack of rigor.

    Chasing the Scream

Almost too well documented. Learned so much about addiction, it's effects, possible ways to treat. If only we could put these ideas into place
