A Formula That works for this Author

4 1\2 stars Chasing Vengeance might be the last in the Redemption Harbor series and if so the Katie Reus puts out a great book from start to finish. Katie Reus has a formula when writing a series that will work for some and others might not pick up on it unless they read her series back to back. The character likable with a tragic backstory that keeps readers wanting them to find the romance and spark that brings them back to life. Layla and Xavier are no different. The sexual tension is off the charts. Readers will be able to connect with Layla and her straight forward no bars way of handling romance. Katie Reus is able to write action scenes that come straight out of the movies. Keeping readers enjoying the ride. All the characters from the different books are in book 7 bringing the stories to a closure if the author wants. Thank you to Netgalley and the Author for advance copy of Katie Reus Chasing Vengeance. Why 4 1\2 stars our of 5. Read the books back to back and you will see.

I will miss the Redemption Series, great reads!

Visiting Redemption Harbor is like coming home and catching up with old friends. Although each book is a standalone read with its own HEA, there are friends and colleagues from previous books that give a real depth each story. Xavier and Layla's story in "Chasing Vengeance" is filled with drama, suspense, falling in love, and a connection that is hard to deny. The last book in the series, I am sad to be leaving the "Harbor", but look forward to the next great series by Katie Reus. **I was gifted copy of "Chasing Vengeance" from NetGalley. Leaving a review is voluntary and completely my own.** 5 Stars!

    CHASING VENGEANCE

CHASING. VENGEANCE. Katie Reus "Redemption Series" Layla was attracted to Xavier and he was now back in town. Her taste in men have been garbage, should she heed Skye advice, that he was dangerous. Xavier thought she was perfect, resilient after what she has been through. Sex and friendship all it could be, his hands were too bloodstained, being he is with the CIA and kills for a living. When she is driven off the road, was it his past or the past dealings of her ex that was behind it, and wanting to kill her. Redemption Agency is called in to figure it out, while Layla and Xavier are on the run, He wanted to retire, and protect her, and even more if possible. Fast action in this final story. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

    4.5 Stars of Awesomesauce

The end is here! The Redemption Harbor series is now complete and goes out with a bang! This story focuses on Layla and Xavier. And he is scrumptiously bad! Xavier definitely has a bit of a dark side, but he is trying to do the right thing when it comes to Layla. He doesn’t believe that she could have a future with him because of his past, but when it comes time to step up, he goes all in. I was really surprised by how much I liked him. He was very reserved, but I definitely got why and when he did open himself it was awesome to experience. Layla was a very sweet character. She knows that there is something about Xavier that has a darkness to it, but she doesn’t let that stop her. But there was only so much she could take. She took the story more than I would have expected her too, but she knows the other characters in the series, so I guess she had an inkling to the type of person that Xavier was and wasn’t as shocked by the revelations that came out. Overall, very nice story with a great pace and a great ending to an awesome series! I am going to miss the characters in this series and hope that the author, while not bringing them back here, may intersperse them through other series that she rights. So, two thumbs up and happy reading!

    4.5 Stars!

I'm sad to see this is the final book in the series. I love the mix of good and anti-hero characters that have come together to form this security team. They don't always follows the rules but they do only target the bad. Xavier is a hit man, friend to former hit man and one of the newer members of the Redemption Harbor Consulting team, Axel. He met Layla at Axel and Hadley's wedding and he just can't seem to walk away. Unfortunately, he believes he isn't good enough for so he keeps them in the friend zone. If anyone deserves a happy life, it's Layla. Her story is pretty sad and man did I feel for her. I wanted to kick Xavier for holding back with her. I did love the moments of jealous and possessive behavior he portrays with her and he was super protective of her. It just took him a bit longer to learn to be protective of her feelings as well. As much as I have loved all the couples in this series, Skye is still my favorite. She plays a big role in all the books and I just love her character! This is a great series and I highly recommend it for all the romantic suspense lovers.
