I enjoyed reading this book. Lisa See is great at character development and pacing the book. Her characters are richly described. Her interpretation of life for the Japanese in the camps after Pearl Harbor brought tears to my eyes. It was just a brief part of the book though. More importantly she explores friendship and the entertainment circuit for Orientals during those crucial years.

Don't waste your time. Very boring story and juvenille writing. Can't believe I finished this book.

    Good book

Loved reading this tumoltuos saga in Asian lifestyle. From pre to post WWII. How the girls are all so caught up with dancing and their social lives. But the ending is not is what you would guess. Great, easy to read Noel.
