    another strong women

I think my favorite thing about Ms. Barton's books is that the female characters do not just immediately fall for our male characters. As a rule, the male does something really stupid and then spends the rest of the story trying to make up for his stupidity and woo his mate. Christian was unprepared when he met his mate and for some reason he is constantly fighting his cat for control. Allie was hired to teach hand self defense to the Stanton men, she doesn't need the jerk who claims to be her mate. She will not be bullied so he better back off. This was an engaging storyline, the characters were interesting, the story was captivating and there were several twist and turns. Fast paced, lots of action, drama and even laughter keep the reader entertained. Since it is only the second book in the series we are still getting to know all the characters and Ms. Barton likes to drop hidden hints as to what may come next. I look forward to figuring out where the hints leads. I volunteered to read this story for my honest opinion

Christian has some groveling to do

All Allie was suppose to do was fulfill a favor to a friend, and teach the Stanton boys some self defense. But one of the boys seems to have it in his head that she is his mate and that gives him free rein to be a butthead and boss her around. Allie may be a human, but she won't just roll over and be submissive to any man. Christian got an unexpected shock of meeting his mate when he least expected it. Now he's in the doghouse with her and has to find some way to show her that he's not really the overbearing man he came off as during their first meeting. Christian's most recent case is also dredging up the past that Allie wishes she could forget about. But a desperate mother isn't about to just let her son sit in prison for something she doesn't believe he could ever do. I love that Christian and Allie didn't start off already lovey dovey. They had issues they had to work past and Christian had to realize that Allie can and will protect herself no matter what it takes.
