    Short, yet good.

I was actually expecting this to overlap with the scene in book 5 of the Mageri series, where Silver sees Kane walking out of the prison during Logan's incarceration. I now understand why he hasn't spoken to Sunny in over a year, afraid that she'll discover his slower aging and feel disgust over the fact that he's a Sensor, not a human. Beyond the discrepancy of where I thought this story would end, though, it is good, if a bit too short. The slow sharing between Kane and Caroline over the length of the book was poignant and bittersweet because she knows she will die. And as Kane gets to know her, he swiftly falls in love. I'm also going to say this reminds me a little of the story of Sleeping Beauty, wherein the Prince has to defeat the villain and wake the damsel with true love's kiss. Now if only he would realize that his sister has been brought into his world by Silver and that she wouldn't be repulsed by what he is. That would be a reunion worth reading about in my opinion.

    Sweet

Love her writing. The fact that this is a novella just means it feels short, but the writing and content are great.

Short but sweet. Nice to get a better view of Kane's character after reading The Mageri series.
