    Thanks for your feedback!

A fast-paced space opera sprinkled with wry humour

This is meant to be a quick read, and it lives up to the billing. You dive into the story from the first sentence, and gallop along right through to the end. The heroine, Nell Romana, is given a choice - go to prison ... or ... run a bar on a little space station way out in the galaxy and be a spy for the good guys. Yeah, right, what would you choose? But once you've suspended your disbelief, you're off! The story is a classic three-act plot - more of a who-is-likely-to do-it than whodunit. The characters are likeable and engaging, and I was comfortable with them right from the start. My favourite character is Alpha - the big, blue ex-bad guy who can knock you down with a single blow but has to go and research the birds and the bees. The description of the bar and its characters is reminiscent of the Cantina Bar in the first (and best) Star Wars movie. The repartee between the characters is snappy and witty, but I wonder if some of the quips are a little dated for the timeframe of the story. Would anyone really say "Get out of Dodge" in the thirty-first century? I would happily have downloaded the next book and kept reading, but the ending implies that a sequel is not in the cards. But it was fun while it lasted.
