    Thanks for your feedback!

    Excellent

Other than the cliffhanger ending, I really enjoyed this book. It seemed to have a touch of everything going for it, suspense, forbidden lust, kidnapping, potential mafia retaliation, but the pure love story at the core and the sacrifices made in the name of love make this a good read. There is however that pesky cliffhanger, so now we have to wait for the next book to see what happens next. I definitely recommend this one.

    Can love break the code?

Pietro lost his family and watched his mother die at the tender age of 15. He moved in with his father's friend after that. He had a daughter, Lucia "Lucy" Spontiago. Pietro fell in love at first sight. He also knew he could never act on those feelings or it would be a grave insult to the man who took him in. So he kept his feelings to himself. Loved her from afar, hurt with more pain, he follows her to New York so she can pursue her dream of ballet dance. Lucy has an overprotective father. She knows his business dealings are shady, but she never feels threatened by them. After losing her mother, her father seemed obsessed with her safety and by college age, she is quite sick of the smothering. She wants to live! Her father sends Pietro to keep an eye on her. Lucy has no idea that he is so close. She catches him and figures it out. They start their friendship anew. Possibly with benefits - as long as it is in secret. Until tragedy strikes and they have no choice but to come out in the open. Can they keep it from her father while dodging danger? So many surprises are in store for the reader! If you love adventure, suspense and hot romance - this book is for you!! I thought the characters were victims of a romantic tragedy, until I read all that goes on. ***This ARC was given from Netgalley.com and its publisher for review purposes only.

    Next book is needed now!

Contains Slight Spoilers!!!!! Loved it! I want the next book now! Too bad the next book says its not coming out till December 2016! Jeez, that's way too long. Anyway, this book was right up my alley, I loved Pietro and Lucy! Their story is super sweet, and I love how they are sort of childhood sweethearts; their love is a deep bond between them. Pietro's love for Lucy is so sweet, and he a wonderful guy; I like that he doesn't sleep around, him being in love with Lucy is important to him, and even if he thinks he can't be with her, he doesn't need to go sleep with other women just because he's a guy and can't help himself; it's refreshing for a guy to have some control over himself. I don't really like the mafia angle, and I hope Pietro stays out of that life because that just isn't a life to live. I like that Lucy is into ballet, and I like that she stands up for herself, but I don't like that she took her father's offer, and I don't like that Pietro tries to push Lucy away for her safety; that's never a good idea. This book ends in a cliffhanger, so I'm so not liking that! I am really, really hoping that Pietro and Lucy find a way to work through their problems, and I hope there won't be any other people that try to sway them away from each other because that would be torturous! Hopefully their love holds strong, and they stay true to each other, and they both realize what is truly important in life; each other. I need the next book now!

Great, so far - BUT: Cliffhanger / Serial!

** Provided by Netgalley in Exchange for an Honest Review ** Judging a Book by it's Cover: Sharp dressed man that looks to have the weight of the world on his shoulders and mind. Makes a gal want to try to alleviate some of his stress. ;) Looking Deeper: First-person POV, alternates with clear definition. Pietro feels indebted to Giovanni for taking him in when he was a teen after his parents were killed. His attraction to Lucia, Giovanni's daughter must be kept a secret for fear of Giovanni's reaction. He's also determined to get to the bottom of his parents' murder, although danger surrounds the case from every angle. Lucia was a little breathing room to become her own person, regardless of how much she loves her overly-protective father. She's attracted to Pietro, even when everyone refers to them as siblings. Their chemistry is natural to two people that spend their teen and young adult years living together and discovering each other in new capacities. (Sort of similar to a Step-sibling story, but not quite.) There are some interesting secondary characters that add a nice depth and some dynamics to the plot. Their whole relationship and his past are nothing but conflicts, but they manage to work though them in ways that would be appropriate to the age and situation. There is some predictability, but not too bad. The conclusion was completely ABSENT. At no time were we informed that this was a SERIAL, ending on a cliffhanger. I've wasted hours of what little time I have for an incomplete story... not happy about that at all. HOWEVER, if I had been informed and forewarned, I'd think that the story in itself was pretty darn good so far. NOTE: THIS NOTE ONLY PERTAINS TO THE ARC COPY PROVIDED FOR REVIEW PURPOSES AND IS NOT BEING TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT WHILE SCORING AND RATING THE BOOK. I felt that there were more than a few grammar and/or word use issues in need of addressing (not to mention one of the highest typo counts of 2015), although I do hope they are fixed in final edits before print. My biggest complaint is the use of meter (yard), note (money), torch (flashlight) when Lucia is a born and raised Chicagoan and the story takes place in Chicago and New York City. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Heat Level: ~ Score: 3.9 ~ Stars: 4 --------------------------------------------------------------------
