    Great Series

It took awhile. This one wasn't a put you on the edge of your seat from the first chapter when someone is murdered. This one just had you turning pages and warming up to the story and the characters. It was interesting because the story takes place in the 70's which had me wondering how the murder(s) would be solved and how the investigation would be handled without all our present day resources. The eventual murder happened well into the book and then was followed by a 2nd one. Even though I jumped into book 6 of the Country Club Murders I wasn't lost or distracted in fact it was hard to put this book down! My only negative thought was I think I might be looking for another Country Club if it seems to be the host of all the murders in town! I enjoyed Cold As Ice and look forward to reading more in the series. I received a complimentary copy from Great Escapes Tours.

    Best Ellison yet!

Ellison's struggle to be her own woman continues in another glimpse into 1974 society and it's a great read! On top of being a newly widowed, single parent, Ellison's responsibility to oversee Henry's bank, which is Grace's inheritance, lands on Ellison's lap when problems arise. Ellison's loyalty to family and obligations creates a very tense Thanksgiving and puts her facing off with a murderer. Anarchy Jones can't overcome Ellison's society upbringing and her determination to look after herself even when in mortal danger. An excellent addition to the Country Club Murder series and looking forward to many more. I volunteered to read an ARC from Henery Press through Net Galley.

    Ellison Does it Again

Thanksgiving in the Midwest – ice storms, bitter cold, howling wind and murder. Even the title of Mulhern’s latest book gives me cold chills. Every sentence describing the weather had me aching for a coat. The country club set is up to its old tricks and I wonder if our author will eventually run out of people to kill off. Cold as Ice, the latest in her series, is a quick yet riveting read that grabs you, pulls you in and hangs on to the very end. Ellison keeps finding bodies, her mother gets more irritating, Hunter is an almost-thorn in her side and Anarchy tends to make her yearn for so much more. Another really good addition to the Country Club Murders series.
