  • Cold hearted killer, red hot romance

From page one this mystery draws you in but if you’ve been reading this series you know Darby didn’t kill anyone. Who does she call? The man she calls when her life gets to be too much, her crush of seven months FBI SSA Eban Winters. Their relationship is complicated, he is forbidden from getting involved with someone he rescues, but they spend a lot of virtual time together as “friends “. Can they have more? As we read both POVs their feelings for one another ramp up the angsty emotional part of this story. But it is the nail biting suspense of the ongoing murder case that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could. And the HEA, truly sigh worthy!

  • So Many Twists and Turns

Wow! What a fast-paced and heart-stopping romantic suspense. So many twists and turns and red herrings. I was absolutely hooked from the very first page....and the action and thrills never let up. The killer was clever and diabolical. Darby and Eban most definitely had to work for their HEA. Highly recommend. I received a copy of this book from the author via Bookfunnel. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

  • Excitement & Edge of Your Seat Intrigue

If you’ve read “Colder Than Sin,” you’re already familiar with Darby O’Rourke’s back story with Eban Winters. But you don’t have to have read it to enjoy their continuing story. COLD AS ICE has Darby O’Rourke back in Alaska resuming her PhD program with the Geophysical Institute and slowly rebuilding her life after the harrowing kidnapping she experienced the past year. (Re: “Colder Than Sin”) When faced with the murder of one of her fellow students, she immediately reaches out to FBI Supervisory Special Agent Eban Winters for help. Dropping everything, he rushes to her side, ready to do whatever it takes to rescue her and keep her safe. What follows is an amazing journey full of surprising twists and unexpected turns that I guarantee will keep you guessing right up until the beginning of the climax. It’s an exciting ride that will have you on the edge of your seat at times and tug at your heartstrings at other times. There’s lots of action, drama, intrigue, and suspense with just the right amount of steamy passion to have you glued to each page from start to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed Darby and Eban’s tale and highly recommend this extremely engaging and entertaining romantic suspense.

  • Page Turner

Toni Anderson is a first-rate suspense author, of which there is none better. Cold As Ice (Cold Justice: Crossfire #5) is an amazing example of this. Romance is part of the story but never is the suspense sacrificed for a bedroom scene. It fits together perfectly making the telling seem to be actually happening somewhere in the world, not fiction at all. Darby O'Roarke has some tragic events from the past but Alaska was a new start. The book begins with her realization that the new is no better than the past. Who is she going to call for help? FBI Supervisory Special Agent Eban Winters who has helped in the past. The story is skillful told with a twisty plot that keeps the reader on their toes along with Darby and Eban. Simply excellent! The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

  • Gotcha, Twist, turns, red herrings

Gotcha! Grabs you from the get go and all you can do is hang on. If you have not read the previous books in the series, you can still read and enjoy this one with no problem. I do recommend reading the others, first, why not treat yourself! Second because its like the cherry on top, I don't know how else to explain. I will say I had negative feelings with our determined lady cop, oops, detective. Eban handled it much better than I would have. Sorry Darby those are not friends, pfft. Twists, turns, non stop action, and red herrings. I didn't guess who it was and I liked that. I would also like this series to keep on! Thank you for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
