    A Captivating Paranormal Western Romance

Comes an Outlaw by Keta Diablo is a captivating paranormal romance set in 1885 Arizona. The old west is a perfect place for this tale of a widow’s struggle to survive against great odds, with love and help from beyond. Jesse Santos lives with her twelve-year-old son on her late husband’s ranch, which has been in the family for generations. Since Cain’s death, she has worked the land as best she can, despite drought, cattle rustlers and the fear she is losing her mind. Although she misses her husband, she wishes his spirit would stop talking to her. Cain worked for a psychic investigation company and deeply believed in ghosts. He promised her he would come back to help her after his death, if she needed him. However, she can’t quite believe it’s really him and not hallucinations from a brain addled by too much stress. When Cain tells her that help is coming on a piebald horse, she doesn’t know what to think. Then, Cain’s younger brother Coy arrives out of the blue. He could be a big help, but he doesn’t intend to stick around. Not knowing his parents and brother had died, he only planned to stop in for a short visit before continuing to Utah, but the beautiful widow and her courageous son won’t make it without him. The hardscrabble existence of life in those days, the engaging characters, and the fascinating look at Yaqui Indian culture, carries the reader into a simpler time when it was easier to believe in spirits and their ability to communicate beyond the grave. This story was an entertaining read that kept me spellbound to the end. Coy says one thing to Jesse that truly encompasses the essence of the story: At last he turned and faced her. “A man loving you from beyond the grave, I’d take that as the highest compliment one can give a woman.” That statement just shreds my heart. If you enjoy Romance, Paranormal stories, or Westerns, read Comes an Outlaw. You will love it.

    Prepare to Swoon!

"That was before..." "Before?" "I fell in love with you..." When I read Comes An Outlaw, Book 1, of the Ghostland Series, I was not sure what to expect. A romance? Yes. A ghost? Tick. All Keta Diablo's books have a ghostly visitor in some way or other and I've grown to love that. But it's a western set in 1885, Arizona and her husband, Cain, used to work for a Psychic Specters Investigations Agency as a ghost-hunter? (Bites lip). I wasn't sure how Keta was going to pull that one off, but this is the third book written by this author that I've read and I'm quickly learning just to sit back and enjoy the ride, because this turned out to be another great story! A ghostly thrill, if you will! And that's just what I got. I mean, what could be more beautifully romantic than the love of your life protecting you after their death. Jesse Santos and her young son, Grange, are being intimidated by the Torres brothers and their gang of cutthroat ranchers, who want her off her land after her husband Cain died. In an effort to force her out they're stealing her cattle, slowly diminishing their food supplies, and becoming more threatening with each day she stays. She wants to leave to protect her son from harm, but her friend, a Yaquai Indian, Kajame, is sure her husband's spirit still roams their land. And a voice that she hears in her head, that sounds rather like her husband's, is telling her to stay because 'help is coming'. Is she just going mad, or is her husband really trying to communicate with her? When her husband's brother Coy turns up, for a moment Jesse thinks she'll have some support. But Coy's not like Cain, a family man, he's an outlaw trying to stay out of trouble and move on from his old way of life. The last thing he wants to do is to get involved with his brother's widow and kid, when he's just travelling through. And so, the tension between them begins... I enjoyed the way Coy came across. In many ways he was justified to have no intention in staying on to help Jesse. He didn't even know Cain had got married, as brother's they were not even that close. But Jesse, it turns out, is a fine looking woman with endearing ways, and that son of hers, his nephew, well, he could do with some guidance -- besides, half the house now belongs to him -- if only he could stay longer to help... This is a super story that really packed a punch - the sexual tension between Coy and Jesse was such fun to read, but they had the added danger of dealing with the ranchers who'd quite happily kill to get what they want. But then, Jesse was not one to sit and wait for a hero to ride to their ranch and sort out her life for her. Oh, no, she would also do what it took to survive, to protect her child, with or without Coy's help. But keeping true to the time period there is only so much she can do alone. This story proves there is nothing stronger than a woman's love for her child, but it certainly makes a difference when a sexy outlaw comes her way! A terrific, romantic novella with a gun-slinging plot, which I speedily galloped all the way through! Comes An Outlaw - is an exciting paranormal, western romance with great historical detail! I cannot wait to read book two! Prepare to swoon!

    Wonderful paranormal story

Jesse Santos has lost her husband to an accident. Her 12 year old son, Grange is helping run the farm. Times are hard as some brothers are stealing her cattle. She needs those to help them through winter. The land is hard for a woman to work it and her late husbands sprit tells her help is coming. Coy has been gone for years. He decides to stop by the ranch on his way to Utah. He is shocked to hear his parents and older brother are gone. He tells Jesse he will stay for a short while and then leaving. Can she convince Coy to stay a while longer and help her with the cattle or will he ride on out? Can his past change her mind? The writing will have the reader turning the pages. The time period is the perfect setting for a widow trying to make it with her son. Both characters can hold your attention with Coy not wanting to settle down and Jesse now wanting to leave. The author does a wonderful job with twists to keep the story interesting. This is a story of hope, romance, paranormal and second changes. I love Fetch and Grange they made the story sweeter.

Love is aways above the law.

Coy was heading home to visit his MA and Pa before heading to Utah what he found on their ranch was much more than he and his heart bargained for. Jesse Santos loved her husband, after he died, she talked to his ghost who promised "Help is on the way." The help that arrived in her front yard took her breath away and she had to fight to get it back. Together Coy and Jesse fall in love and work through death to be together. Fantastic fast paced, romantic read, filled with all the best elements, lost man, lonely woman bit of drama to separate them so they have to fight to get back together. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a lightweight romance they can read in public. Other than a few steamy kisses this is safe for those who do not like highly descriptive sexual scenes.
