My favorite thing about Ms. Dane's writing is how she blends deep emotions and raw, earthy sexuality into a scorching read. Are the sex scenes explicit? Heck, yes! But then the depth of the emotions the characters experience balance out the eroticism of the sexy moments. Jessi, Mick, and Adam's path to a happy ending has been a hard one. As childhood friends, they forged a solid bond but the progression of their relationship from best friends to lovers was a rocky one. Four years earlier, everything fell apart between them and broke up their friendship. For Mick, the lack of acceptance of his sexuality and conditional love of his overly religious parents created a flight response in him and when his brand-new relationship with Jessi and Adam came under pressure, he fled as far as he possibly could. Adam's struggle with his own needs and desires as well as the expectations of his family were the reasons he did not fight hard enough for Jessi and Mick. Jessi was the one with the least issues about their triad but the guys walking away did some major damage to her feelings for them. It's been four years and while they went on with their lives, they have accepted that they can't live without each other and they are ready to try again. Their bond is as strong as ever, but they still have to deal with the issues that drove them apart four years ago. Of all three, Mick has the biggest issues. He never fit the mold his father created for him and his issues with his family and his struggles are painful but have shaped him into the man he is. Jessi is the well-adjusted of all three, with a very open, accepting and supportive family and she is the center of their relationship, the glue that keeps them all together. Adam has accepted that being with Mick and Jessi is what he needs and his financial success has given him the confidence to break away from his family. These three have an amazing connection and their story has a sweetness to it that is unexpected especially because of how hot they burn between the sheets but the way they all cherish each other is so great. My only issue was with the handling of the conflict with Mick's family. I think Mick could have been bolder in response to his father's bullying. Their struggle to make their unconventional relationship work is moving but honest and real, and I love that they had their own cobbled-together family whom they could count on. COMING BACK is an emotional and surprisingly sweet story about acceptance: of who you are, of your needs and desires, of love and also of letting go of damaging connections in life. I think Lauren Dane is brilliant!!!! I want to be her friend. She writes so beautifully you get drawn in and never want to leave. This is the 3rd book in this series. The first story belongs to Asa & PJ, book 2 belongs to Duke & Carmella and this 3rd book belongs to Mick & Adam & Jessi. They are brothers no doubt. They all work at Twisted Steel the company they built together. What I love about these romances is that they start their love story early in the book and you learn more about their story as the book continues so you feel the love from the beginning to the end. You know their friends and families. You know the good they do. I want to be part of their family, I feel like I belong there. I almost hate that I finished this book, I never wanted it to end. I couldn't put it down. Lauren Dane made me feel so many emotions while reading her stories. Everything in this book is familiar and they now have a permanent place in my heart. Can't wait for what's next.

  • Emotionally intense and really hot

All of Lauren Dane's strengths - complex family relationships, loyal friends and smoking hot love scenes. It also made me want to go back and read the first two in this series.
