    Fantastic

I have loved the other three books in this series and happily this one did not disappoint!! I was afraid I wouldn't like the heroine in the story but I so did. For a lot of years Lindsay Rivera was that girl. The girl that threw herself at hockey players. Yep, a real puck bunny. After realizing she would never find her forever guy this way and also that she was acting way too much like her mother, Lindsay has sworn off hockey players. Apparently that also meant giving up on men since no one else seems to rev her up in the same way. Now of all times Ryder "Ox" Maddox seems to be putting himself in her path. Relentlessly! He's determined to get her to give him a chance. She's determined to stay strong and resist him. Let the fun begin! This is a fantastic college hockey series and this book is one I would recommend to everyone.

Lindsay Rivera is a former puck bunny who got her heart broken by a hockey player, so she changed her behavior and she’s going out of her way to avoid all things hockey. Especially hockey players. Because like an addict, she knows she might relapse, so she just wants to move on by severing all her ties with all of it. She throws herself into work: studying hard and working even harder in the newspaper. Anyway, she has a small problem: Math. Math is driving her crazy and she just can’t seem to grasp all the concepts. She needs a tutor, preferably one who doesn’t make her heart beat faster or who she might be picturing shirtless… which means said tutor can’t be Ryder. Of course that means she has to resist him. Ryder “Ox” Maddox is a determined defenseman, a math genius and a stunning man. He has a crush on Lindsay, since the first time he saw her, but she doesn’t give him the time of the day. After a few failed attempts, he finally finds a surprising way to spend time with the girl he wants: by tutoring her in Math. He just has to break down her walls and get her to give him a chance because he knows how good they will be together. But that’s easier said than done. I really loved Ryder, he’s so sweet, sexy and his jokes… hilarious! I loved how he could read Lindsay so well, how they started slowly to open up to each other and the way their connection deepen with each interaction. Ryder was very persistent because Lindsay kept running from him any chance she got, I loved that he didn’t give up but also how he respected her boundaries and her wishes. Tough balance but he definitely stepped up! I think I developed a huge crush on Ryder! Cindi Madsen delivered a sweet story, with great characters (I loved their friends, I definitely have to go back to read the previous books in this series, especially Dane’s story!) and emotional moments, definitely a very engaging read. If you love New Adult Romance or Sports Romance, I highly recommend Confessions of a Former Puck Bunny: a book with the perfect amount of steam, humor, romance, banter, friendship and angst.

    ***5 ‘Locking You In’ Stars***

***5 ‘Locking You In’ Stars*** The cover was definitely a lure but the hook was the fact that the jock was the tutor and I just had to see how it would all play out and holy h*ll did I devour this book! I had to force myself to put it down and get workstuff done. It was sweet, smexy, funny and brought out all the feels as I fell into adoration (and at times frustration) with Lindsey and Ryder. I adored Lindsey from her first confession. She didn’t sugar coat anything when it came to who she was as a puck bunny, her reasons she stepped away from it, and who she saw herself as now. In fact it was blunt and at times harsh, which was refreshing but had her pigeonholing herself in a whole new way. I loved her wit, sass and heart. Ryder was all kinds of sweet, smexy, charming and unassuming in a lot of ways. He wasn’t blind to how people viewed him, but he didn’t let it go to his head. His tenacity was a huge draw for me, but so was how observant he was and how he poured all of himself into attaining his goals. From the very beginning I had a general knowledge of how Ryder and Lindsey’s journey to their HEA would play out simply from the title. I knew the past was going to cause problems, but it took me a bit before I figured what the catalyst would be and I was like “whoa”. I was hoping I was wrong, and quite honestly I was hoping that they wouldn’t have to deal with it all, because I loved them together. Their interactions were sweet and funny and had a fluidity about their interactions, even when the sexual tension was ratcheted up, that drew me in and had me rooting for them, even when the bomb was finally dropped. That was honestly painful and I was totally on #Team…, but I loved how everything worked out in the end. This is my first book ever by Cindi Madsen and I absolutely loved it! The writing was engaging, the pacing was good and I really enjoyed the dual first person POV’s. The couples/characters from the previous books are a part of the story but this can be read as a standalone without feeling like you’ve missed out on something important. I thought all the supporting cast of characters were written well and added depth to story without taking any of the focus away from Lindsey and Ryder, and I will definitely be on the lookout for the next in the series as well as finding spots in the TBR list for the author’s other books. ~ Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley & voluntarily reviewed ~

    Delectably adorable.

With spot on comedic timing, the perfect amount of youthful angst and delectably adorable first person delivery, Ms. Madsen did what she set out to do. Touch the heart with her humorous yet optimistic and highly addictive romance. Lindsay was looking for love in all the wrong places. Her penchant for excess led her into the arms of many a hockey player but left her feeling broken and empty at the end of the game. Seeking to break a bad habit, Lindsey swears off hockey players and their humongous egos. And men. Until a smart, funny and sexy guy crosses her path. Ryder is the man of her dreams, but can she break her own rules and open her heart to the one type of man, she's sworn off?

    AMAZING!!

I have loved every book in this series and Lindsay and Ryder were no different. I am so sad to see this series come to an end!! Lindsay was a puck bunny before falling for a player and getting burned. Now, she's not in any way interested in hockey players or hockey parties or anything at all to do with hockey. Until she meets the intensity that is Ryder "Ox" Maddox and needs his math tutoring skills in order to graduate on time. Since Ryder is younger, he doesn't really know anything about Lindsay's past. What he does know is that he is drawn to her and once he sets his sights on something, he achieves the goal. I couldn't put this book down but I never wanted it to end. I'm definitely going to miss the characters in the Taking Shots series. Lindsay and Ryder's story was a perfect end to a lighthearted, sweet, funny, heat filled series. *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*
