  • 17 mysteries, 17 winners

Reading a Savanna Martin Mystery is like spending the day with a friend a very nosy friend with the hottest husband one can imagine, but still a friend. Jenna Bennett builds her mysteries into the realistic life of Savannah, Rafe and their friends. While few people would choose to investigate murder, if feels normal in Savannah's life; it is the very day activities Ms. Bennett includes that draw me back and that make the stories seem so plausible. In Conflict of Interest, the couple and baby Carrie have moved to her hometown while their seriously burned home in Nashville is being repaired. Rafe, who has taken a short- term job with Grimaldo, the new chief of police, is working with the sheriff's department to investigate the murder of a teen from the time they were all young. The bones have just been identified so the case is both new and old while all of the evidence, what little there is, is 16-years old. No one seems to have known the victim well, but someone in the Martin family has a close connection that leads to unwise choices and the suspect list. For the 17th time, I love this book.
