Like all of her others, Melissa Toppen finds a way to pull you into a story and keep you hanging on every step of the way. Her stories are relatable and have a way of making you a part of the story yourself. Bravo Ms. Toppen. Bravo.

A concentrated package of brainless and stupid

Some other commentator called this book predictable and brainless. Very fitting. I might have been ok with that for the price of not even 1€, but certain behaviour of the characters drive me just crazy and I might not even finish the book ( I have read about 60% by now) First: Addison has no spine and no conscience concerning her alcohol consumption. She lets herself be persuaded or pressured at any time to drink alcohol, some times in big amounts. In my eyes this makes her not adorable, but just plain weak and very stupid. Second: Liam takes her out one day and simply risks her well-being and health, while being portrayed as considerate and kind. If I take a woman in a ride on a motorbike I take care, that she wears proper shoes and a long legged jeans. I don't let her guess, what the proper attire is, without telling her what you plan. Burn your naked leg on a hot exhaust and the day won't be romantic. Get a cramped back, because your date forgot to tell you to wear a jacket and you won't be able to do much in the evening. Third: The next thing where Liam risks Addisons health and Addison again is not using her brain. What impression would you have, if somebody goes to great lengths to secure a special location for the first sex, but forgets condoms? And how stupid is a woman, who doesn't even ask for protection, while she clearly suspects, that he already had a lot of sexual encounters in his past. Not even when he admits to that fact later on, she not once thinks about STD, but instead is just jealous? Stupid girl! Fourth: When her Ex grabs her hard on her wrist and leaves finger prints, her only thought is how the the guy might react, if he sees, that she was touched by somebody else. Wow.... the stupid! So I guess I will skip the pages until it is revealed that Liam is not the bartender, but..... oh well I have my strong suspicions, but won't name them here. So those who are amused by stupid behaviour of women and a portrayal of gender rules right from the 50ies might get some fun, but I am just disgusted.
