    She did it again!!!!

Myers delivers another piece of literary genius in this third installment of the Lunar Chronicles. Unlike the second book where I didn't get a full understanding of the title character, in this edition I definitely got a good sense of Cress as a character. The Lunar shell is a meek, computer genius that dreams of a life of romance, freedom and bliss. I thought the character was a bit too naive compared to her predecessors but you start to understand where it comes from as you learn more about her personality and upbringing. Cress gets the whirlwind course in being free person and while she had to get with the program really fast, she catches on really nicely and matures into a pretty lovable character while still keeping the more endearing part of her naivety alive. In alibi think she makes a nice contrast to her predecessors Cinder and Scarlet. She's still a strong and capable character but a bit more softer and feminine. And as for her male counterpart, I couldn't get enough of Captain Thorne and his witty dialogue and i think he and Cress blend very well with their contrasting personalities. A good pairing. The story gets more nail biting as we get further into this war with Levana. I can't wait to see how the group pulls off this master plan especially since Levana is turning into a pretty formidable opponent in all of this. Cinder is becoming more and more of an incredible character so am I also anxious to see how she further grows into a leader and a revolutionary.

Another Fun Addition To A Unique Series

Ever since her brief cameo in CINDER, I've been eagerly waiting for a more "formal" introduction to Cress. I found her to be very unique, and I'm happy to say I was not disappointed! CRESS is a long book but it focuses a lot on character development. That said, there is a lot of action and adventure and, of course, a hint of romance. The story was pretty good and filled with a lot of work for the characters as they were separated across the stars. As far as the very main characters, Cress was just what I hoped she would be. Completely awkward but easy to relate to, a girl with imagination and hope and more strength that she gives herself credit for. Thorne's personality was what I thought it would be, but his interactions with Cress were super sweet and fun. New characters were introduced and older characters were expanded upon. Cinder was of course very strong and worked on growing as a responsible young woman who's thrown into a situation that she's not prepared for. Kai also got a little more time credited to him as he struggled to keep his country under control. Dr. Erland was a tragic character who's story and discoveries were intriguing and endeared him more than ever before to me. I absolutely love Wolf and Scarlet, and seeing her story really has me engaged into what will happen to her next. I didn't really like Jacin at all, though. I thought he was a jerk the entire time. That said, as with most characters written by Meyer, I'm sure there's more to him than meets the eye. Despite some slow pacing at times, the action was far more brutal and solid, especially at the end. I'm very excited to see where the rest of the story will wrap up, who the new characters will be, and if Levana can be defeated after all.

    Love love love

I am addicted to this series. It is so well written, original with just a hint of familiar. Can't wait till the next one comes out.

    Cress

Really good book! Marissa Meyer introduces a new character, Cress, who is once again based off a fairytale. Couldn't put it down! This story will leave fans hungry for the fourth book!
