  • Great conclusion!

4.5* Watching Over You was a great conclusion to the McKenzies of Ridge Trail series! (At least I think it's the last book!) I couldn't wait for Madison's story and I was not disappointed. She's so feisty and strong, which we saw in her brother's books, but I liked seeing a more vulnerable and caring side to her as well. The McKenzies are still doing their best to eradicate as many people as possible involved in human trafficking in their area, while still keeping things as private as they can. And now Crosby, the detective Madison is completely intrigued with, has entered the picture, causing some concern for the family. But the good detective has secrets of his own, making Madison more determined than ever to to get to know the man. I really enjoyed this book, it's my favorite of the series. Crosby is definite book husband material, that man is ideal! I know Madison might be much for some people, but I like female characters like her- tough, smart, determined, able to give as good as she gets. She and Crosby were a perfect complement to each other. I love how the McKenzies work together, they all have their strengths. It made me happy how willing they were to bring Crosby into the fold, once they got to know him and learned more about him. Things moved pretty quickly in this book, from the romances (get it Parrish!) to tracking down the last lingering trafficker who had it out for both Parrish (the patriarch of the McKensies) and Crosby. This addition to the series focused a little more on the relationships, with the suspense being more of a side "character". I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this book, Ms. Foster did a wonderful job bringing everything full circle. I'd definitely recommend reading this series in order, it'll give you a better appreciation for everything that's happened up to the start of Watching Over You.

  • Best yet!!

I read Watching Over You and LOVED it!!! It's her best book yet!! I started reading it at 9:00 at night and was up until 4:00 A.M. before falling asleep, then woke at 8:00 A.M. and went back to it. I literally couldn't stop reading (and wouldn't have if I hadn't fallen asleep). I don't know how, but Lori Foster's books just keep getting better!! I was happy to see that one of the main characters throughout the series finds love again! Can you tell that I become immersed in her stories and the lives of her characters? It takes real talent to create characters that people can care about! It's why Lori's books are on my must-buy list and I'm one of her biggest fans!! Thank you, Lori Foster, for so many hours of enjoyment! You're awesome!!!

  • Watching Over You

This is the third installment in this trilogy and WOW once I started it I could not put it down. Madison is the digital guru of the family and she has not met a device she cannot hack but when she came upon Detective Crosby Albertson in the previous book she was hooked. She, and her family, including her two brothers and father, are elite in fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves and specialize in human trafficking. Both brothers have now met and married their wives and Madison just wants to be an equal in the "business." When she sets out in a snowstorm to follow Crosby she doesn't plan to follow him into a hold up but that is what happens but she holds her own. Before she knows it they have taken down the three robbers and she has met Crosby's family, well the man who helped raise him when his mother couldn't. This is when she finds out he is no longer a police detective and soon to be going to work for her father. Things really get going when Parrish tries to break into Crosby's home only to be met with a shotgun and a beautiful woman. This one was so good! Watching Crosby and Madison find their way, two strong-willed and independent individuals who just want to do good. The extra bonus is Parrish finding love again. This trilogy could not have ended better. This one can be read as a standalone but seriously get the first two.

  • I have really liked this series.

I have really liked this series with the alpha males and the women who are strong enough to take them on. There is so much more to Crosby than he lets the world see. Madison has a thing for Crosby and she goes after what she wants. Crosby is afraid Madison will put his family in danger if she keeps investigating him. Crosby has an unconventional family and will do anything to protect them. Madison wants Crosby, but will he fit in with her family? Will he be able to understand the lengths Madison's dad will go to help others? Or will he want to do things his way? They have some things to work out so they can be together. They need to figure it out fast because there is someone stalking all of them.

  • A great addition!

We finally get Madison’s story in Watching Over You, book three in the McKenzies of Ridge Trail series. As much as I loved her brother’s stories, Madison really intrigued me. She is the only girl in the family whose business is to fight human traffickers. She is fierce, so intelligent and hilarious with her antics. Then when we see the sparks fly between Madison and Detective Crosby Albertson in her brother Reyes' story, I was chomping at the bit to get to her story. I can say the wait was definitely worth it. Things are a little different from when we are first introduced to Crosby Albertson, he was a detective who had some questions regarding the McKenzie family, but he is now hired on by Parrish to work for them. We learn there are reasons in his personal life that have led to this change and it all melted my heart. Now what is not different is Madison’s fascination and attraction to Crosby and Crosby still trying to distance himself from her. But with him working for the family and each privy to the other’s secrets, and danger surrounding both their families, denying their attraction was no longer a possibility. Like in many of this author’s books, the suspense kept me glued to the pages. The wonderful family dynamics and the second chance at love for Parrish was an added bonus. Overall, this was a great read and a great conclusion to a wonderful series.
