  • Mind Hackers

Cross Waves by Amanda Uhl, book two in her Mind Hackers series offers the reader a tale of suspense with a romance within. A secret government agency consists of agents with psychological gifts that allow them to find secrets and alter dimensions within the world. Someone has figured out the secret to harnessing energy inside crystal. This energy can be unleashed in a wave of violence around the world. Agents Geneva Ericksen and Rolf Jorgensen are searching for Rolf’s missing sister, Julia; as Geneva’s abilities may be the only thing that can save her. During the mission to find Julia, they not only discover these strange, synthetic crystals, but encounter numerous obstacles and attacks on them. At the same time, Geneva and Rolf find themselves batting their own mutual attraction while keeping their own dark secrets from surfacing. Geneva and Rolf's chemistry off the charts and the clashing of their abilities could make it dangerous. They are willing to take the chance in order to have a future together. Now they need to figure out how to stay together long enough to find Julia, discover who is behind the attacks on Geneva and locate the stolen crystals. Ms. Uhl wrote a story that not only built tension between her characters but also the plot as it develops. I was invested in these two from the beginning and enjoyed their development individually as well as a couple. The supporting cast was equally intriguing, adding layers to the story. The suspense factor kept me on the edge of my seat, right up until the end. I highly recommend Cross Waves to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
