    CROSSFIRE CREEK

Joy-Lynn had made a promise, it changed when she heard the cry, a few minutes later heard the cry again. Curiosity for this eleven year old was strong, reasoning she would just look and then she would get the rangers. A mother trying to take the advice and give her daughter some wings, now she is worried. She gets another promise from Joy-Lynn when she comes home. A story that haunts a person, how far does a parent go to protect a child. Ellis needs a good tracker and calls Aroostine. The meeting place with Ellis, instead turned to be a free pie, and the list from Ellis. Dealing with the Qualla and Cherokee people, a rare condition for a child. A story that tells of how far a love for a child, who had the magic to draw scenery but not faces. I found it to be strong compelling book that I wanted to read, the author did a great job. Special Agent with the ISB is offered, will Aroostine take, a woman who is allergic to rules , will that be in the next book. GivenARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

An enjoyable "who done it" mystery!

Crossfire Creek is another enjoyable book written by Melissa F Miller. As usual, Melissa does her homework regarding the key pieces to the story which includes understanding a medical condition, a National Park and a Federal agency. Melissa does a nice job of keeping this who done it a secret throughout the read. You don't know who the killer is until the end. This Aroostine Higgins series continues to keep my interested with a desire to read more. If you are worried about questionable content well this book is clean from start to finish so no worries there. This is a great book so I would recommend it to anyone. #crossfirecreek #melissafmiller #aroostinehiggins

    Riveting!

Love this series so much! These books are always difficult to put down once you start reading. Roo is a character to admire. Her beautiful personality and high morals and ethics shine through as always. The research Miller does for her novels always impresses me. I learn something brand new from her novels every single time and I found the information in this one fascinating. Thank you, Melissa!! not only for the escape aspect your books provide but the educational value they provide, too. Amazing!

    Loved!

This story has Aroostine (using her alias, Rue Jackman) tracking down a scared mother and daughter, who are on the run after the daughter witnesses a horrible crime. They think disappearing is the only way to keep them both safe. Aroostine uses her skills to track them down, but ultimately needs the assistance of National Park Services, and an agent who does not trust her. This was a great read, as all Melissa's books are! The characters are complex but intriguing, and you can really feel their emotions throughout. The story is well written and just completely draws you in. Loved it!

    Such a great book

Melissa Miller does it again! Another five star Aroostine book. I so love the characters in all of Mrs. Miller's books. They are beautifully developed, relatable and fun. This page turner had me learning new things, holding my breath as I turned the page and rooting for the strong female that is Aroostine. It created in me a desire to visit the Great Smoky Mountains, contemplating what a world it would be to live in where you didn't recognize a face and dying for the answer as to which path Aroostine chooses. Once again, I am left with a complete enjoyment of a book and an incredible desire to read the next one! This was a hard book to put down, a fast and very enjoyable read. I'll definitely be re-reading this one! I was provided an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
