    Crowned and Mouldering

Third in the Fixer-upper mystery series. Shannon Hammer and crew are finally ready to start the renovations on the lighthouse mansion purchased by Mac Sullivan, best selling novelist. During the walk-through to inspect the property and set priorities a skeleton is found in the dumbwaiter. Shannon steers the new police chief towards a ineffective guidance counselor and a returned classmate that is slandering Shannon and trying to pirate her crew and customers. Author telegraphed the who but the why is unclear.

Murder and Mystery in the Lighthouse Mansion

I really enjoy this author's Biblio series but I have had a tough time getting into this series. This the third in the series and the third one I have read. This was my favorite of the three. The series and the characters finally seem to be clicking. In this one Shannon once again stumbles on a body while working on Mac's Lighthouse mansion. Shannon sets out to solve the old murder as well as a new murder. I liked Shannon's relationship with Eric, the new police chief, while they solve the crime. Shannon and Mac also seem to be taking their personal relationship to the next level. The mystery was easy to solve but there were enough suspects to keep it interesting. This series should be read in order. Enjoy

    Delightful book to read!

Something I was keen on was that the author portrayed Shannon as a smart and strong woman (to many books lately have portrayed women as ditzy and bumbling). I enjoyed that the mystery was complex and difficult to solve (though I did figure out who was the killer). Crowned and Moldering is the third book in A Fixer Upper Mystery series, but it can easily be read by itself (without having enjoyed the other two books in the series). I give Crowned and Moldering 5 out of 5 stars (because I just loved it). I cannot wait for the next book in A Fixer Upper Mystery series. I received a complimentary copy of Crowned and Moldering from the author (I am a member of Kate’s Raters) in exchange for an honest review.
